Lifelong Star Wars fan, but I don't push the order of it. I answer the question if asked based on my own opinion.

That's annoying as well, I don't have directs but it's just the hypocrisy of the "good enough to do the work but not good enough to have the role" in part. Plus being micromanaged sucks, especially when it seems there's an ulterior motive.

I am trying to at least lateral in my company but even at that I'm having difficulty, it's been suggested to me my boss might be not giving me the best review in order to keep me. I'm top 5 in my unit of about 100 for production.

If your boss doesn't give honest feedback, one way or another, that's reason to just leave the company, and when HR asks during exit interview, just say you were told your boss was prohibiting your career advancement, they'd love to hear that :) Sounds shitty of them to do anyway.

There are plenty of things keeping people in jobs (retirement is not vested, etc.), but if your only thing holding you there is an excuse of something that's keeping you there, run like the wind and don't look back. :\

Shitty to be sure (if in fact it's correct). I thought she was better than that, but I opine she's just trying to get to retirement and fly under the radar.

Unlike most in there, she's not one who got promoted through nepotism..most of her peers have, so she's kind of odd one out

Replaced the oil pressure sensor and cleaned the throttle body on my friend's Trailblazer. Finished minutes before it started raining.

Went the NE fishing show in Boxboro, it was OK. I saw/drooled over some fishing Kayaks.
But at $1600 to $2600, I had to stop and think of my lift.
We went to lunch nearby at Slaters.
We had a Very Good/Great Pizza and the BBQ sampler as well, that was good for 3 adults and 1 granddaughter. Their Pizza is awesome IMHO.
    It's on 117 just of of 495, I wish I lived closer.

I hear ya on that! I oversee the New England region in my company with one other guy and everyone still mostly come to me for stuff because they know I will handle it.

The only other positions I would be interested in my company would have me traveling around the country a good amount. Also the pay would be a bit less. I pretty much hit my ceiling with what I am doing and feel its time for a change. I asked for a raise about 3 months ago and I got the run around. They told me I have to wait until I get my review and then I can ask about merit increase. So we will see what they do for me in a few months. If they low ball me or tell me that they cant give me more than the 3% then I am definitely getting my resume out. Going to prep it soon anyways.

if you’re in the market for a fishing kayak- it’s worth your time to check out the Vibe seaghost. I have the 110 model and absolutely love it!

Sucks because all of them are good at what they do and have the skill/knowledge to handle the role. They are just not reliable and/or bat-shit.

Sucks about your boss not giving you a better review to keep you were you are. As a manager myself, I want my techs to better themselves and I would never do anything to hold them back even if it means I would lose them.

I got held back in my old job( to move to a different location and job) because they had no one to replace me. I jumped ship. Regretting it a little now.
