@troutspinner Better turn off your cell phone, smart TV, Laptop, Refrigerator, Dish washer, Toaster, Blender and have your Dentist remove the RFchip from your tooth. Never take off your tin foil hat unless you are in the Faraday cage.

Dude, you are so off that you have no idea. I could care less about me being tracked as I already know I’m being tracked from a hundred different methods. I am just explaining what the SOS does and what it affects. You obviously assumed and you know what that does right.

I would not be too worried as if you are using a smartphone, they or somebody knows where you are at this moment! Can’t hide from wires, towers, traffic cameras, satellites, or the Toyota mothership!

Fuck, dude. If a 'professional' car thief hAx0rZ my truck they can fuckin' have it. Better than a methhead kicking in my door to steal my copper.

Anything comes with risk. Reasonable precautions are always a good thing. But probability is a thing. If a random 1337 hacker steals my truck, I'll screenshot this post, print it out, and literally eat my words.

Hire someone to live inside tyour truck. Give him the spare key and call him to start the truck. As a positive, thieves will be less likely to steal a truck with a person living inside. One great solution for two problems.

I think it goes way beyond Toyota or the Insurance industry. I seen a show on Frontline recently about A.I. Whether you have a Smartphone, Smart TV, Smart car, or Smart refrigerator, there's data being compiled on you, - and course being sold.

You know the easiest way top steal a car, break into the house and steal the keys. 95% of cars stolen are stolen that way. A car is more likely to be stolen by a common bugler this way than by some type of tech-wizard.

It's alarming that our personal data is the most valuable resource in the world right now.

.The Chinese are quickly becoming the Masters at it. The Head of of the largest A.I. development company in China, and soon to be the World, said with a chuckle, that a person dose not even have to use their keyboard.

Yeah, it’s kinda a thing these days. You are a commodity. Yes, you. You’d die if you actually knew what was out there on you.

Insurance and warranty claims are what I would be concerned with.

    Agree completely.

I think a lot of pre 18’ guys don’t realize you can turn off the TSS as well.

Put our stuff on now...inexpensive plan compared to theirs and guess what...when your trial period is over on the smart phone app, your fob kit still works. On the 2020, when remote Connect is discontinued, I read that the RF fob start portion is also disabled...sneaky Toyota...that's like me saying you haven't paid your TV cable bill, I'l disabling you volume controls between your remote and TV...silly.

These buttons are extremely important for new Tacoma owners who have never been outside recreationally, in case they accidentally get stuck in a drainage ditch off roading in their neighbors backyard.
    Do not disable these.
