What has everyone done with the stock high beam for type of lighting? If I'm understanding the splitter correctly the projector high beam and the oem high beams should both go on when you flip to highs. Thinking about putting Morimoto 35W HID in there to add more light. I do a lot of offroad and late night highway driving in the woods. I figure the projector high will go on immediately and the oem high would take a few seconds but that would be very bright together.

I kept my halogen bulbs for highs and they still produce an incredible amount of light. The color doesn't match the HIDs, but that doesn't bother me much since I hardly use my high beams. I would reconsider the HID idea and maybe go led instead. The warmup time for HIDs seems forever and if you needed high beams quickly they would let you down

If the projector retro has instant high, that wouldn't matter a whole lot right?

Probably not, however most still wouldn't recommend it. I have no experience with them but I can't imagine a typical high beam bucket would reflect an HID well enough to capitalize on their full potential. @no vtec 4me care to chime in with your lighting expertise or ask @crashnburn80 he is a vehicle lighting guru

If you are talking about running a bi-xenon projector that supports high beams, in conjunction with the stock high beam reflector, I would leave the stock high beam reflector with a halogen. While you have instant high beams when your low beam HIDs are ignited and warmed up, you don't have instant high beams when your headlights are off. I'd personally prefer the ability to flash on demand if needed rather than having to have my headlights warmed up to do so.

I was under the impression that these Morimoto 5.0's are instant when the high beam is turned on. Why would the second high beam need to be instant?

The HID projector high beam is just a movable shield that removes the low beam cut off. With the low beam, the cut off shield is in place. With the high beam the cut off shield is dropped, removing the cut off for more upward light. It is an instant high beam if your HIDs are already on and warmed up. If your lights are not already on and warmed up, it is the same as starting your HID low beams, your high beams will require warm up time and will not have the ability to flash from off.

That makes sense. The only situation where having HID in both high's would be detrimental would be when starting the vehicle with high beams on. Are there any other situations I'm not seeing here? When would I ever need to flash from off to high beams?

When would you start a vehicle with high beams on? Typically flashing from off is done to communicate with other vehicles in the daytime, such as signaling someone to pull out in front of you or turn left across the front of you, if you have to ask then it is likely you don't need it.

Single color demon eyes are now available. They come in red, green, blue, or amber. $40, I’ll be adding them to my price list.

They can be tied in with your drl’s for a complete plug and play set up. They can be done on the stock halogen projector, yes.
