So what's the consensus if your trading your truck for a new vehicle say at Toyota dealer. Will you get more for the lift if removed.

I have a ToyTec Boss coilover with Total Chaos uppers and Dakkar Leafs on the back. But plan on leaving my method wheels and tires as I sold my OEM TRD wheels. I have bolt-on sliders to that can be removed and sold

    Thoughts?

Doubtful you’ll get anything on trade in more than you would stock. Depends on dealer and area. If the demand is high for a lifted Tacoma and some aftermarket flare then you’ll do ok. If not better to revert to stock and sale what you can to recoup some cost.

    Where you located?

Typically the dealer doesnt give a fuck. If anything theyll try to use it against you. You're better off finding someone that wants to swap all of your stuff for their stock stuff as a package deal.

You will get nothing added on the trade if you leave the parts. Now the questions are, how much are those parts worth, how long will they take to sell, and finally is that worth your time switching them out?

Around here you actually get less for a modded truck cause they will remove them back to stock or send it to auction.

Experience tells me stock. They try to use anything as an excuse to ding you on your trade in. Heck, my last trade they tried to ding me for aftermarket wheels and tires that were worth twice as much as stock.

Sell it yourself as is, why pay a dealer a lot of money sell it?

Sell privately if you have time. Otherwise strip and trade in stock.

Go on facebook and find a toyota group that is local to your area. Plenty of guys will be willing to give you their stock parts plus cash for any mods you have. Then go trade the truck in stock.

Part it out if you have the time and trade it in stock form. Sell the small parts you can ship here and sell the bigger things locally. You'll get more back that way.

As long as the lift is fairly mild, it will make very little difference. If the lift and the tires you leave on the truck give it a good overall look, you will not lose any money. I traded a lifted FJCruiser in on my Taco, and they gave a very good trade in value and the FJ never saw the lot. I think someone at the dealership picked it up for themselves. Just depends on the value of your time to remove.

The typical car buyer is a PITA.

The OP should return it to stock. Some dealers will just send it right to wholesale if the mods are obnoxious thus the trade in value will be low

Say you are near Arizona and want to swap/sell some of that....:D

I’ve learned the hard way a few times that the dealers don’t care about your aftermarket stuff...
