I went and looked at that 02 LC Saturday. It had a timing belt replacement 4K ago. It had the typical 16yr old paint. My major concerns were the power steering felt sluggish, the radio antenna was broken, the rear middle seat belt was stuck, no 3rd row seats, cracked windshield, sunroof didn't tilt up or go back, and the driver floor was soaked(I've read it could just be the sunroof drains are clogged).

I just couldn't pay that price with all the things wrong. The water in the floorboard, power steering, and sunroof not working pushed me away from it.

It seemed like it was well taken care of, but they replaced the timing belt and then traded it..…...that leads me to believe in was needing some expensive stuff. It had oil change sticker from the local Toyota dealer.

3 load plans complete...7+15 to burn.

    :hattip: Ian

Sunroofs are always a problem in the long term life of a vehicle, IMGOBO & experience. That was one of my wife's big reasons for wanting to trade the 2014 Highlander for the 2019.

I don't care to have a sunroof. I had one on my 95 T4R and it was the only thing that ever gave me a problem in the 180K I drove it. I just don't know if the LC 100's even came without a sunroof.

I had one in my British beater work commuter car I picked up when we got to RAF Mildenhall in 1994. Leaked like a sieve and led to some nasty mold issues. Drove that POS for 3 yrs and ended up paying a junk yard £40 to take it off my hands. Other than that 2014 Highlander, I've avoided them like the plague ever since. I don't think my wife ever opened that one.

I don't have any want for one either, I just don't know if you can get one without it.

Closest I've come to a sunroof was the soft top on my Jeep. Never really leaked when I had it but I wouldn't have cared if it did, it didn't have carpets or anything

My google foo says they exist, but are VERY rare and a hard find on the market.
