Red Gen 3 (2016+) Tacoma 6ft Bed ARE MX Shell plus custom extruded aluminum roof rack (Prinsu style) with 50 watt solar panel and interior electrical to include solar controller, switch panels, interior lighting, 12v socket and USB power ports.

If red is not your color, consider having it coated with spray on bed liner (Linex or Rhino liner).

    Located in Reno, NV.
    Craigslist post:

$2500, reasonable offers will be considered.

I’d like to sell the shell, roof rack and electrical as a unit. After a reasonable amount of time if the shell hasn't sold, I would consider selling the rack and electrical individually.

    NOTE:
The pictures show items that are not included and are only shown to give an example of what can be done with your setup. The items included are listed below.

    Details:
    Shell
The shell is an ARE MX that was purchased in late 2017 for a 2017 Toyota Tacoma. It is color matched to the factory red color. It has roof tracks, side windows that open out and have sliding windows with screens, front drop down window (to give you access to the back truck window for cleaning) with a sliding window to match the rear sliding truck window, and a rear window that opens out. Side and rear windows have locking handles. The interior of the shell is carpeted. There is a third break light above the back window. Wiring harness for the third break light is included (ties into the driver side rear break light). There are no leaks in the shell or windows. The shell is in excellent condition. Four mounting brackets are included. The mounting brackets tie into the OEM tie down bar on the side of the bed.

    Roof Rack
The roof rack is custom made out of black anodized extruded aluminum (8020). The roof rack includes a 50 watt solar panel, two custom scepter style 5 gallon water jug holders (water jugs not included), custom awning mounts on driver side and rear of rack (works with ARB awning and includes custom mounts for the ARB Awning, awning not included), mounts for track pads (similar to Iron Bull track pads, track pads not included), and cross bars that will accept the Rotopax Fuelpax mounts (4.5 gallon Fuelpax shown but not included, mounts not included), a mount that will accept the highlift jack pad (jack pad not included). The rack will also accept High Lift jack mounts (mounts not included).

    Electrical
The Shell is equipped with an electrical system and includes LED lighting on the interior, side windows and rear window. The lighting inside includes three independently switched white 12” interior roof mounted LED light strips. There is one each side and one up front. Additionally, there is an independently switched Red 12” LED light strip on the interior of the shell. Each side window is equipped with two 12” white LED light strips that can be used to light up the outside of the truck when the windows are open. The rear window has two 12” white LED light strips that can be used as area lighting when the window is open in addition to a 12” white LED light strip that points down towards the tailgate when the window is open. There are three switch boxes to control the lights. Switches that control the side lights are accessible from the side windows. There are four USB chargers, two up front on the driver side and two in the back passenger side corner. The rear passenger side switch box also has a 12v socket, voltage readout, and switches to control the USB plugs, 12v socket, and various lighting. There are two prewired switches available for additionally accessories. A solar PWM controller is also included with the shell. All of the wire is contained inside black braided wire loom and most of the connections are soldered and shrink wrapped. The wire runs inside the shell and is held in place with velcro wire holders attached to the interior carpet.

Shell is currently off my truck and on a trailer ready to travel.

    Not included and recommended items:
    1. The shell does not come with a fuse block and one will be needed. I used a Blue Sea covered fuse block. I need it for my next build.
    2. Fuse for the solar panel. I used a re-settable fuse for the solar system. I need it for my next build.
    3. You will need to wire from your battery to the rear of the truck. I will provide the 10ga. wire that I used to hook up the system, although due to the way I built my fuse and electrical system under the hood, the wire will be about a foot short to reach the battery. I will provide the additional wire and a bladed fuse holder to hook it to your battery, you will just need to splice it together. I ran the wire on the passenger side and brought it up through the rear corner box in the truck bed.
    4. While it might not be necessary, I’d recommend replacing the seal between the shell and truck bed.
    5. If you have never had a shell or cover on your Tacoma, there is some prep work that will need to be done in order to seal up the truck bed. The Tacoma bed is porous. People often blame the shell for the leaks when it is actually the bed. Additionally, rear tailgate seal is recommended. I can advise on what I did to seal up the bed and tailgate.

The shell and included accessories are being sold as is. If you have any questions or would like to see the shell, please PM me.

This is badass and checks many boxes for what I'd like to build. Unfortunately, I have not the money to take it off your hands. I am curious what you're building next. Must be even more badass to cause you to part with this setup. Best of luck with your sale.

    Thanks for the compliment.

I am swapping out the ARE shell for the new Project M shell by Four Wheel Camper. It will be ready in a few weeks.
The current setup (drawer, slide out tray and cabinets etc) will work with the new shell with some modification. Unfortunately the roof rack will not work so that’s why I am selling it with the ARE shell. And I will be changing the power system in the back as well.

The ARE shell was a great set up and we spent a lot of nights camping with it. It is sad to see it go with all the time spent building it up, but I am also super excited to create the next one. I enjoy the build out process.

Nothing a saw, some epoxy and a couple cans of spray paint couldn’t take care.

This shell is up for sale again. I’ve had it in storage since March. Price reduced. If reds not your color consider getting it rhino or linex coated. Would look great, increases durability and wouldn’t add much to the overall cost.

Interested takers? Spring sale, bargain at $2500. New shell alone without rack and electrical will cost much more...

Will consider parting out. If you are interested in just the rack or electrical let me know.
