First off - I think the idea's cool.

Second - if you do it - do the flatbead in fairly light colored hardwood flooring. Real wood looks excellent in that capacity - but you have to use an outdoor grade varnish, obviously.

but third - uh, I'm not so sure how the look will come out on a double cab. Proportions might just always appear a little wrong?

I like the idea, but I think the load capacity of our trucks may damper the sprits of the idea.

Subscribed... I'm waiting for something to happen to my bed to build a flat bed. I've got the DCSB so having the flat bed in the full width would be awesome!

Wow i dont know, why are you thinking of flatbeding? get a trailer for load hauling. i really dont think that they look good on these trucks. but thats my opinion. if you do it document the build i wanna see it.

The short bed is almost useless. The wheel wells take up a lot of the bed and losing the width on an already short bed limits the usefulness of the truck in my opinion. I do not have a place to store a trailer so if it doesn't fit in the bed, it doesn't make the trip. I won't flat bed mine until it's 10+ years old and is no longer a daily driver, in the mean time I'm looking into a cap to expand the cargo area.

This is just a idea I had the other day. The stock bed is to small and i do not have a place for a trailer.

This one looks pretty clean, though certainly not a 2nd gen. Not even a Taco in fact. But I like the bigger tires. Makes it look mean AND brute.

Yeah - flatbeds need to be on std cabs to look proportionate.
