well if you are serious about that, sounds like fun?

Define nice and easy. I live in the cascade mountain range at 3300'. We get plenty of snow and they use a ton af magnesium chloride. I plan on getting another couple gallons and dousing the living shit out of both the Taco and GX470.

i was not aware of that! I always thought they just let you use tire chains/studs and spread sand on roads or close them to non 4x4s?

please let me know how that stuff sticks for you in this area here, which has done nothing but came off so far on me, either by hosing it all down or going through the sloppy rain and snow puddled ridden streets here

    CF 3000 pass ~ 3.jpg

a corrosionX HD pic has not been taken yet, just applied it this afternoon after the primer had 24 hours to dry
this is CF 3000 brushed on thick last week, it did not last long in the direct road splash

Keep an eye on the CV boots. If they're old/stiff they might rip just from being run at a slightly different angle after a lift - mine did.

Make sure the blend valve on the firewall actually opens and closes when the temp knob is turned. With the temp knob on hot, feel the two lines going into and exiting the heater core. How do they feel temp wise?

If you put new UCAs on, they may stop giving you free alignments... depends on the Firestone and what UCAs you get.

Location is what really what it comes down to with firestone. My local Firestone aligns mine just fine with my TC UCA's.

I changed out my lower ball joints. I had to do the job outdoors so I've been waiting for a break in the PNW weather.

These are the original ball joints. They have 242,000+ mi on them. The drivers side was very low on grease and had a slight amount of play. The passenger side still had grease and no play that I could tell. I went OEM because I want these new ones to last like the last set.

My thanks to the contributors on this forum for giving me the know how and inspiration to do a job like this.

Marlin makes a proper short throw shifter. Swapped the URD one for this, and love it. Definitely better.

I thought OEM ball joints didn't use grease. Don't they just have a Teflon liner?
