Glad I’m not the only one who notices things like this :). I just sit back and remain quiet and grin a little. I call em internet warriors but it is what it is. I only been banned once for something to do with politics. Someone made a political statement and I laughed and said that’s for another topic. Banned. Ah well though. This place is definitely unique and great things is none of the mods that have alter egos are directly influencing me in real life.

Depends on your user preference. If you’re a gas mileage guy then the only benefit to the tune is how it holds gears with minimal power gain. If you’re a performance guy and like to have a heavy foot, it’s very noticeable that’s for sure. 0-60 slings ya back in your seat on the high octane boost.

Also the way it holds a gear now is incredible compared to stock. I’d let ya drive mine if we ever had a chance to meet up. I like it a lot.

it would be too hard to tell a difference since it's been so long since i've been stock.

you'd say for daily driving it's definitely worth it?

I can say yes for my truck. I can’t speak to your truck because you may not be stock. There are gear specific tunes also for the heavier trucks that changing differential gearing and many speak highly of it also. Daily driving I noticed right away. Acceleration is smooth and not jumpy. No vibration anymore at low rpm when cruising in a taller gear. No more shifting from 5th to 6th and back and forth an insanely amount while never changing the force of pressing the gas pedal. All around to me it’s an improvement.

However, there are two glitches in the tune For 2019. When going full throttle from a stand still or passing, it bogs down when it hits around 6200 rpm. Kinda like the fuel is being cutoff. This isn’t constant though. Another glitch is 3rd to 4th shift point. This only effects 2019 at but say you’re accelerating and each gear is shifting around 3k for example. 1-2-3 is smooth as can be then going from 3-4 it up shifts way early at say 2k rpm and just feels weird. He says that both issues will be fixed in final release though so we’ll see.

Another thing I thought of to help explain best since words don’t mean much compared to user experience is this - our trucks seem like there’s 100% of power delivery available but Toyota only allows us access to say 70% from factory. Maybe they have it ‘tuned down’ to help for longevity reasons. Kind of like our trucks have a sort of governor inside the ecu. The tune from OVTune allows it to use nearly 100% of it and more of it is available at lower rpms than before. Keep in mind that the tune doesn’t transform your truck from a v6 feel to a v8 but without a doubt, to me, it’s noticeable right away. Hope this info helps.

Are you second gen or third gen? Really would like someone to comment the has bought it on how well the tune helps (particularly for second gens). See the comments from newdles and tunes do help with gas mileage and for towing applications.
