OEM parts are expensive like that. I went to a local hardware store about bought a pair in stainless for something like $0.25.

Starting to source parts for this mod! I'm not pre-wired and I'm a little confused to how many repair terminals I need to order. 2? or 4? I've tried to read through the instructions multiple times but can't find a clear answer.

Are you going to add a dash switch? then one repair wire from the M6 connector.
Is the dash switch you're adding a OEM kind? then you'll need 4 of the type for the OEM switch plus the terminal to the M6 connector...

Hey, did the #10 5/8” screws end up working for you? Hoping to do the install this weekend.

Also, anyone happen to know the steering wheel nut size off the top of their head? I have a pretty good metric socket set, just wanting to make sure it’s not something weird.

My stock is a 0R020 and it has the fog light switch. o_O

And just to muddy the water even more, there are 0R030's on eBay that clearly do not have the fog light switch.

Does anybody know what the straight scoop is? I'm about to embark on this upgrade and would hate to be shot down after going thru the trouble.

Can you just look under the dash or near the blank fog light covers to see if you're pre wired to add fog lights? I know the last truck I owned non toyota had the wires for fogs near the blanks in the bumper, taped up out of the way. The harness was also there behind the panel where as to add a factory switch, not using the wiper handle off the steering wheel. I'm just really curious as to see how I can check if my 2020 SR is prewired before I bite the bullet

If it didn't come with fog lights then you'll also need the engine compartment harness. About $65.

82114-04010 -- This is for the 2019. Probably the same for all gen 3's.

Just seeing if there is an easier way so I can just pop my head under the bumper and check real quick

Kinda, but not factory wired. They’ll pull power direct from the battery via an add on fused relay with a switch like any other auxiliary light. They’ll also generally be low quality replacements compare to the OE TRD fogs. You can get OE parts on here and eBay frequently for less than the aftermarket knockoffs.

“pre-wired” means the body control harness has a wire in the pin 26 terminal. Without actually looking at either that connector under the dash or looking at the stalk wiring, you won’t be able to tell if you’re pre-wired. It’s a safe assumption that any non-utility SR is pre wired but why not check? It takes 5 minutes with a 10mm wrench or a screwdriver, depending on where you check. You’re just removing panels, not the wheel, at this point. Like it says in the first post...

To add factory fogs, you’ll need the OEM Engine bay wire harness referenced above and in the first post, the lights, bulbs, and bezels, and some sort of switch. I went with an aftermarket dash switch because I didn’t want to take the steering wheel off.

I'd rather go dash switch, I had a titan and was prewired and all I had to do was get a factory switch n the lights very straight forward. Just looking to c if my 2020 SR Double Cab 4x4 would be the same I dk the stock number off the top of my head......would knowing the stock number give any indication as to whether or not it is pre wired.

I looked under the bumper and on the passenger side it had a harness plug that would look to fit a fog light but on the driver side I didnt see anything similar. The passenger side was of course taped up to the rest of the headlight wiring.

I replaced the entire stalk assembly on my SR with one I found on eBay. All I'm lacking now is the engine compartment harness and bezels, which are on the way. I'll end up with a totally factory fog light setup including dash indicator. Changing out the stalk assembly isn't a big deal. It all comes apart easily, including steering wheel, and goes back together just as easily.

No, I’m not sure what the harness is for but it’s not for the fog light. The only way to tell if you’re pre-wired is to look for the correct wires under the dash in the body control harness. Pre-wired has nothing to do with the wires that go to the fog light housings, it refers to whether or not the ECU has wires to the control that turns on the fog light relay and the dash light when pin 26 on the body control harness is grounded.

Just did the install (along with the intermittent wiper mod). Can confirm, the steering wheel nut is 19 mm.
Also, this was terribly helpful when going to remove the air bag:

Where have people sourced the grounding washer from? Are there big box stores where I could pick one up locally? I'm pretty sure it's the only piece I'm missing. I've already sourced all the rest of the parts from the post

Edit: in case anyone else was wondering the part in question is called a ring terminal and they sell them at lowes

You mean the ring terminal, for grounding the dash switch? Literally any hardware or auto parts store should have it. It’s a 1/4” ring for 18-22ga wire if I remember right.

I couldn't find it for 18-22...the smallest they had was 14-16 which is way too big
