I also ran a 3/8" spacer on top of that, which "you shouldnt do", but I did, and it was fine. Was it the best smoothest ride in the world? hell no, but it kept the front end up where it needed to be :muscleflexing:

Good to know. However that still only gives me an extra .5". I need at least 1". That would put me back at 22" in the front. Which is still less than I originally thought when I installed the kit.

So the 886 to gain some height back but to also account for the additional weight on the shocks? Then spacers as well to get the full height?

What springs are you on now? 884 maybe i recall? 887 are taller, same spring rate, they even make an 888 which is for turd gens, taller yet, same spring rate. I dont know of anyone that has put 888 on a second gen 5100 shock, but may be worth exploring

bingo  886 are the stiffies, no two ways about that. 884/885/887/888 are all same spring rate, just different heights (888 being the tallest)

    Yes I'm on 884s now.

Where can you find 3/8" spacers?

second hand maybe, headstrong sells em, wheelers sells em, along with a host of others. you likely need to press in longer studs for the spacer though, I remember it being close, We did press in longer studs when we did mine with the help of @ahspurlock

keep in mind, a 3/8" spacer ""should"" yield double that in actual lift +/- due to the geometry and the placement of the spacer in the overall system, angle of the dangle type stuff

They don't according the Headstrong's website. But others have chimed in and said yes.

Headstrong sells 1/2" which is close enough.

Will the 884/885/887/888 spring rate be sufficient for the added weight? If so I'd prefer not to have a rougher ride.

    I ran 886s and 885s on my 5100s back when I had a 2013 Tacoma.

886s are fine when you add the weight to them. I currently have them with a front bumper and winch. The ride is better than stock but not as good as a Cadillac.

maybe, definitely something to ponder. 886's are stiff indeed.

My current setup (before the weight) is slightly stiffer than stock. So sounds like 886s plus spacers. Since according to Wheelers, 886 is made for an additional 110-220lbs up front.

Also, any thoughts on poly vs aluminum spacers?

Also also, Wheelers claims 11/16" of lift with their 1/2" spacers. Headstrong says 1" of lift with their 1/2" spacers.

Sorry for all the newb questions.
