    Stock again- rip slug
any ideas from u boios on doing my roof on the slug? Clear coats shot the shit and after power washing the undercarriage, engine bay, and exterior of the slug on Friday; I notice some spots of surface rust ALREADY appearing to the roof of the cab where the clear coat has dwindled.

I know it's something not of immediate need to be addressed, but need to considered route before the summer. Maybe just sand down and plastidip the roof?? Ill try and nab pics, it's just "pin needle" sized spots I wanna nip early on

I wouldn't mind going back to a stick but that'd be more involved wouldn't it?

You already have to get a new ecm for a 4x4 swap, correct? Just find one for a 5 speed. And then all you need is the clutch pedal/master cylinder and appropriate lines. Then the interior trim for the shifter.

Of course Ive never done one, but it seems simple enough.

you know what works great on windows - this stuff

    https://waxdirect.com/product/best-waterless-car-wash-and-wax/

every now and then, costco will run their product lineup in a total package. All of the products are top notch - the waterless wash/wax though... that stuff is great on the windows.

Hell, even when I'm out of that stuff, just use a quality glass cleaner and then follow it with a little wax.

Here's one I bet you didn't know (I learned it from my buddy's father when we were just kids), take a potato and cut in half. rub it all over the windshield. Wipe off with paper towels. Result: Potato-RainX. lol. Worked when I tried it as a kid, not sure how it stands up to today's products though.

All that gasket maker stuff was scraped off both the transmission and the pan

    And now today

What do you think @Empty_Lord @Speedytech7 use gasket maker instead? I bought a new gasket to use when I cracked apart my pan for the first time since it was leaking. Went wheeling a few times and it never leaked until today.

What I think (even though you didn't ask :luvya:)... good thing you're going to be changing transmissions. In the meantime, toyota does offer an actual gasket for the A340E. I have one sitting here (ordered it a year ago I think lol). Or just use that Toyota FIPG which is what it calls for anyway. In fact, Gunny tried to talk me out of ordering the actual gasket. I just ordered both to have on hand, figured I'd decide which route to go once I got to the point of dropping the pan.

Shweet, I will then when the times comes. Thank you!

Kinda dumb no lie, gonna make it wait until I see a change in the rust. Is that smart? Just wanna be not too much of a Jay, but in the same sense don't want it to fly out of hand.
