So I got some new headlights I really like them but I need some help!

I want to keep my halo's on as running lights, I was wondering if someone knew how to do it. Also when I turn on my lights they make a funny pattern on the wall, I know you can adjust them and I have but what is the best way of adjusting them.

Below are some pics, two of the headlights and my truck and one showing my funny pattern.

    Please give me input, Thanks!

That's because I turned them on with the switch... I would like them to stay on without the switch being on... like the yellow running lights...

I have the same lights and that's just how the cutoffs are in these projectors. If you want a true straight line cutoff, start thinking HID retros

not sure how your truck is setup, my running lights only come on with the switch is turned on.. anyway, you could always just connect the wires from the halos to your green wires on your running lights

I think they are called running lights, I am talking about the yellowish orange lights towards the center of the grill... On my truck those stay on once I turn the lights on... I am not good with electricity so I was hoping someone else did this before... to be quite honest I don't mind turning on the switch while getting in the car...

oh, yea you have the daytime running lights. we all have to mod our trucks to make ours do what yours does by itself...lucky ass. you'd have to hotwire the halos into the power wires for the running lights, it should be pretty simple

The headlights will only come on with the switch such as your running/marker lights. Tacomas do not have DTR (daytime running lights). You could try, running a jump wire from your marker lights to just the halo part of your lights or whichever part you want lit with your marker lights. Not sure if it wouold be too much of a load or not. You can play with just running a power jump from one to another and see what happens. Not so sure I recommend it, but you can try. That being said they will still only come on when the switch is on.

What years? I will research it, I am around them all day long and I have yet to see one. But I certainly could be wrong. Daytime running lights run your headlights only without you having to do anything at the switch and is operated by a sensor.

all years, its an option, just a simple relay swap. the DTRL lights up the signals lights not the headlights...surprised you didnt know this if youre around tacomas all day long...

OP, your going to be stuck w/ that funky cutoff...thats why i always suggest to not get them. the only thing you could do to make it better would be to raise the passenger side to make the cutoff even.

as far as keeping them lit all the time...tie them into your parking light circuit. thats the best i can think of, they will be lit whenever your parking lights or headlights are on.

Nope, never seen any Tacoma with any type of DTR on them. Never even knew you could get the relay for it either or had anyone ask me to install one, nor have I ever had to replace one like I have on other models. The only DTR I have seen from Toyota from the factory are Highlanders, Camry's and Corollas and so forth all of which run the headlights not the marker/turn signal lights. That being said some regions do different things, such as the XPS Tacoma, that is not a factory vehicle but is sold as such in the South East Region for Toyota, as well as many other things. Pretty neat to know it is available.

Got the parts in today to install for the DTR, just to see how easy it is to install. Pretty cheap too, 45 bucks. Hats off to Yosh for enlightening me on this option.

My signal lights stay on without the lights being on. I didn't do anything to do that. Kind of wish there was an easy way to disable it sometimes.

Agreed, odd how some people want the option to add the standard features that other year models came with and some of those with them would rather not have them. I myself am considering disabling the D.T.R.L.'s on mine.

I have has these style lights for 10 months. One of the Halo's burned out. The Head lights will get annoying from the way they are cut. I am going to put my factories back in. I found on mine that the right side (passenger) light does not light the same. it has a dark spot in it. It is annoying also. I changed light bulbs ballast ad all. I cant explain it. Good luck with them.
