I bought my 2000 Tacoma Prerunner in Horizon Metallic back in 2015 with 155,000 California highway miles. My daughter racked up 55,000 additional miles in less than two years, driving around the American West to hike rock climb, etc. I had to upgrade her to a 2001 Tacoma 4x4 since she lives in the Sierra Nevada, and I held onto this truck. It's a clean, nice looking truck, but at 218,000 miles, it has needed a lot of routine maintenance including:

Windshield (Too pitted to drive into the sun)
    Timing belt
    Valve Cover Gaskets
    Radiator
    Heater Core radiator
    A/C condensor
    Ball Joints
    Brakes including discs
Drive Shaft w/ 4 CV Joints
    OEM Bilstein Blue?Yellow Shocks
    Replace Headlights (too foggy)
    New OEM Floor Mats
    New OEM Mud Flaps (Rear)
    Both catalytic converters (Walker aftermarket)

I've got quite a bit of money invested, but it runs better after every repair, and I think the 1998-2000 Prerunners are the best Tacomas ever produced.

I know that it will run as long as I want to drive it.
