UCA to frame torque specs

    Recently went off-roading and my UCA came detached via the nut coming loose and bolt sliding out of place

    interested in finding out the torque specs for a 4x4, I almost certain it’s somewhere around 85 ft/lbs but not 100%

    Even if the nut did shear off, the bolt shouldn't be able to fall out because the bolthead is on the 'top' of the angle.

    only thing I can imagine is nut came loose or broke and bolt came loose as I continued up a rock slope later in ride, I felt a jolt and my wheel was caved in UCA was lodged in engine bay

    I don’t have any original pics of damage but bolt was In place correct head at top of angle

    Ended up throwing the bolt back in and tightened a spare nut back so I could drive home, I just wanted to torque it correctly now that I’m home

    So did the bolt come off because it wasn't torqued to spec, or did it shear off?

    I are confused.. He said they put the bolt back in, so I doubt it sheared off

    Either could have happened I imagine it broke because original torque was done by a professional but not sure, couldn’t find it

    If you were able to thread a new nut on the bolt then the old one had to have just come loose and fallen off. *Don't assume "professionals" are torquing everything correctly either.

    Lol I've heard a ton of horror stories about lazy mechanics ... including plenty regarding Toyota technicians. I'm not sure if all UCAs require it, but I got some new Icon Billet ones and they require red threadlocker ( https://amzn.to/2RwfIF3 ) to be used with the UCA install.

    Yes suspension bolt that attaches to the frame of truck, I understand skepticism but the bolt was installed properly with washer and nut installed at bottom of angle

    my last upgraded suspension was done by a mechanic shop that I assumed did good work due to referrals but will be doing this myself

    Yeah called them this morning, no major damage done that I can see, slight alignment difference but that could of been anything
