Did anyone test a 04B04 4.88 version? I’m happy to do that (dongle) if needed

Speaking of M/T, did the testing work out well for the DFCO part of the puzzle?

That's what I was understanding when I flashed yesterday but the tip in is almost unbearable.... push gas pedal and nothing, push a little more still nothing then push a little more and boom truck goes. Truck isnt very manageable in 1st or second in parking lots or my side road to my house where the speed limit is 15. Kinda makes sense if those changes he made were for geared trucks. Other than that the 04b04 beta was ok on my 17 with e load 235 85 16s and a k/n blackhawk intake.

If there was a tune with more tip in than the 04b04 one currently holy $#!+. Cuz it's rather touchy as is. More touchy than I've experienced. Usually I can control what or how the pedal reacts. Not with this one.

    Very odd,

a few people report touchy tip in, others reporting not. Thank you for testing though.

Don't think he has released the 4.88 version yet - dongle or non-dongle. Since 0944 was near perfection it will be interesting to see what the final 2.0 has to offer.

@OVTune Mat, can you speak to why people shouldn’t reset their LV’s. I’d like to put this to bed. I’ve seen posts where you say it’s not necessary unless there are weird issues. Could the discrepancies with tip-in be due to certain people resetting LV’s and some people not?

I’m glad you asked this. I’ve never reset anything just flashed but I try a tune for a good while before swapping. Think tonered mentioned something about it earlier saying it was quite better after the reset and flash so next time I do a flash I’ll likely reset to feel any difference myself.

The touchy throttle can be measured, correct?

I’ve always reset them after my initial flash to 1.05. I didn’t then and could barely drive it. I’m a proponent to resetting LV’s but I also admit I know nothing about what it actually does. But if your truck “learned” your driving habits on one tune, why would it drive well on a different one. A lot of people post their experience after driving 50 miles without resetting and I don’t think it beneficial to the forum users or to @OVTune

I’ve been on here for awhile and I’m sure that there are differences in many trucks. But the biggest variable is the driver. We all feel different things and want different things. I feel starting from “0” on each tune is the best way to truly gauge and compare experiences

The LV reset is because some trucks didn’t do it properly as part of the flashing process. It’s not an issue on all trucks.

this is mats post from a year ago about it

Ya, the beta before 19800 had a very aggressive tip in. I was able to learn how to manage it and it wasn't so bad, but at first it definitely took a lot of conscious effort to drive smoothly.

The throttle angles can be measured, yes.
users experience of what is considered too touchy.. not so much.
Either way the file that people tested should not be taken as the "current state" or close to. It has a lot of the features going into 2.0, but some things are still getting cleaned up.

throttle response is like shifting on this truck. One person likes, one person dislikes.

Either way it would be great if everyone can stick to their experiences on zendesk. This is exactly how forum fires start.

No more testing is needed on that file, except from users with 5.29 gears to confirm the cut limiter is no longer there.

I see, but wouldn’t it be more beneficial for people to just reset them regardless. If it’s supposed to “do it” then it wouldn’t hurt anything to “do it” ourselves. I think it would clear up a lot of issues and @OVTune wouldnt have to go around in circles trying to remedy something that might not be

I asked this same question (but with decatted dump tubes) via zendesk and was told to just wait for the final 2.0.

Unlike many, I am a patient man and honestly the tune I have now is quite sufficient while I wait.

Resetting learned values was recommended by Mat when he was working through issues on 105. He addressed those issues with 1051 and recommended resetting the learned values to make the truck “forget” any bad habits learned by 105. Other than that, we can use the this function at our discretion. Doing so will start your truck as fresh as possible for better comparison from the beginning. Not doing so allows your truck to keep some (very few) of the stored values as flashing erases most. There’s nothing wrong with resetting or not resetting. You pick based on preference and/or how your truck behaves. Overtime, the end result should be identical.

Since I've upgraded to 285/70/17 MTs, the higher tip in build has been so good to me. I hope there is a similar option in the final 2.0.

For sure, yet people leave feedback after 20 minutes of driving. Either way you do it, you can’t give a true report of the tune that quickly. I just think if everyone did reset them we’d all be starting at the same point. And then could accurately speak about differences we are experiencing.
