Okay, well, I finally am happy to report that I WILL have an update for you guys in the coming few days at most regarding this GB. I am not able to say more at this exact moment until I get a green light from NST, which should be tomorrow.

I WILL say, however, that like a few of you, I got the wrong alternator pulley as well. :(

That was sort of a good and bad thing though because I found out that my seprentine belt for the accessories has a nice big split in the outside rib. So I have to go back in there to replace the belt sometime soon anyways.

Its unfortunate and unlikely they will ever do PS pulleys for us again. They only did like 5 xrunners to begin with.

Hahaha!! Nice!! That pic is well over 10 years old! Where are the peanut M&Ms:rofl:

Anybody know the right process of machines on how one could make this red pulley have cut outs like the grey one?

I presume there would be a cad drawing in the end for the CNC machine to mimic?

True but you never know with 30 some on SC pulleys sold here and another 20 or so kits might be able to swing it. They have to still have the CAD file laying around. Maybe my beater honda needs some lighter pulleys for those traffic jam burn outs... :bananadead:

So what's the deal with the crank dampner a and their steel sleeve insert? I notice a groove in mine, and the past few times I have pulled out the main bolt I have found oil on it.. no immediate signs of leakage anywhere just in there particularly. It's sort of weird. I'm trying to figure out if I should be concerned or not.

What's the weight difference between them? Is the stock one with cutouts steel? I wouldn't risk the cutouts on an aluminum pulley myself.

Have you guys received your crank pulleys yet?

I have not - wonder if I need to shoot them an email.

Nobody yet. Robert is handling a single point of communication and will get clearance to release an update in the next 24-48.

    Very good.

Thanks for the update - I asked because I didn't want to bombard them with unnecessary emails.

Preferably a CAD drawing, although we can make due without one. We would just reverse engineer the pulley, draw up the Tooling Geo for it, and program the CNC to machine those features. That would definitely be 5-Axis job, but I would be concerned with rigidity not only during the machining process, but afterwards as well.

ideally, that would all be done at the same time in the lathe. but you need the right lathe to be able to do turning work, as well as milling, which we have. again, since its billet aluminum, not sure how well those reliefs would work.

For example.. no model for these cast Bronze valves im working on now. So I just use the drawing and measurements of the casts themselves, and create Geometry and toolpaths based off of said geometry. Little more difficult, but definitely doable.

Didn't realize I had to in order to install a new pulley on it. I've literally never done that before on any other crank pulley install and I've always been fine. Of course when installing the new seal I always did put a little grease on it so it would go in easily.

Well if you have it off again, or anyone about to install the new crank pulley, grease the seal and or the sleeve.

Damn. I literally just had it off too. I'm assuming you use some high speed bearing grease or will silicone paste suffice?

I just used wheel bearing grease. Doesn't take much, and helps tremendously.
