anyway, welcome to the cricket show, it's been pretty slow! truck has been doing me well and tolerating neglect, it'll be fun to take it further once my priorities are realigned.

the male is quite aloof, the female must be younger..

That's why I'm here! I just enjoy looking at the scenery (and the truck) makes me miss my 49th state though

 

OP, is it 0k to remove your truck pic off of the 1st gen forum section? so we might have a 'change of scenery'

 

so it is. I have no say in the banners, but I bet if you took it up with admin they'd update things over in 1st gen. @tcBob

In unrelated news:

I think I'll start basic and try repairing my exhaust, it's only stainless steel

then we'll start making plans for rear plate bumper and sliders...

exciting times, the truck has been on total standstill for ages, but this is going to open some doors..

 

There was a little paint restoration job couple weeks ago too.. poor truck has had a tough life

Big day, finally..

Ripped the aftermarket holy headers out, replaced right and left manifolds and cats..
While the truck was on a lift did another frame inspection and discovered the second photo, which is the problem area for this gen of trucks, and found that there was significant corrosion underway..

Just glad I hadn't started welding sliders and a new high clearance rear bumper..

 

The tacoma got a new lease on life after we found the frame rust holes, granted it sat for a while, then got forced back into service till it threw a bendex and sat for anout 6-12months.. Finally got a new starter in this spring, and the new victim has been slowly rectifying the harvests of my neglect.

she is stuck on dead hvac controls.. Absolutely no power to hvac head, after replacing blower motor, resistor, all associated fuses.. I'm starting to get into the battle, since it's getting cold and it's becoming critical.. Any directions or resourced might save the day..

After all electrical components failed and got replaced. The final straw i got stuck on was the clock spring Inside the power dial on the module was gone and not providing enough force to make the metal plates make contact. Some needle nose pliers and a couple bends and she fired right up. Onto the next battle!!!
