i lost round 2. different dealership. Way worse service (tech was good) Arlington toyota in jacksonville fl is and always has been shit. Nothing to come of it.... Also acknowledged the howl on deceleration when foot off gas. Nothing from corporate yet... they are supposed to call back in a few days.

Very Disappointed! I joined the club.Bought a 2020 Tacoma sport 2wd and it has the vibration at deceleration at 25 mph. I did not even notice it on my test drive. Im with many of you Toyota should by now have a solution to this. I just wonder if it has anything to do with the short bed and angle of the
Drive shaft? Reason I say this I still have my 06 Tacoma long bed with longer drive shaft. It purrs like
a kitten and doesn’t vibrate at all. And you bet I’m not selling my old truck until I fix or figure out.Im
going to get under my 06 and look at drive shaft angle and see if I can tell a difference. It’s very
strange that some have it and some don’t? That’s weird. These trucks are to nice to have stuff like this
going on. If I can’t fix or Toyota I may trade in on 4Runner or just keep my old truck. I don’t think
I can live with a brand new truck not doing as well as my 06. What you guys think. Thanks

lucky for you, you kept the 06. I traded my sport 2x4 short bed 07 and it didn't have the vibration with over 200k miles. i'd take it back now... i'd throw 3-5k into it and tighten up some bolts, replace some gaskets, upgrade some aesthetics and put another 200k on it. hindsight bs.... i drove the 4runner... if i were going that route i'd rather have the AWD van. ha.

For those that feel the vibration stronger when braking, have you tried putting it in neutral to see if it changes. Now that I have a 300 miles on my 2020 OR, I am now very aware of the vibration. I can feel it when driving between roughly 18 to 23 MPH and much more noticeable in that same speed range when braking. If I brake while in neutral, there is no noticeable vibration. Perhaps it just changes how the driveshaft is loaded or perhaps it is something in the transmission causing this. I read one post where the person said a different transmission fluid fixed the problem. I doubt it is that simple or Toyota would surely have suggested that.

I’ll try braking in neutral.I did try neutral and just coasting from about 30-20 ish and I still feel the
Vibration. It’s subtle but it is there. This is also weird. I took a test drive with my daughter in the
Truck and the vibration was not as bad. When I’m by myself it’s worse. Like a little weight helped.I cannot believe
Toyota has not fixed this. I believe it can be fixed somehow.

I feel like my issue is different. I can't find anyone who has this same shudder/rumble/vibration on ACCELERATION at low rpms.
For me, it's not during braking at all, but on light acceleration, when "lugging" the engine in a lower rpm. I feels exactly like driving over a rumble strip at around 25 ish mph.

I've attached a video of me driving this morning, so you can see where my speed and RPMs are. Like I said, its on a more mellow acceleration, and doesn't happen when I put more throttle into.

I have a ecgs that I will installing soon as well to fix the OTHER vibration that I'm dealing with. This truck is proving to be a nightmare.

has ANYONE had this same issue??

That’s different than what mine is doing. Mine and a lot of people have the deceleration vibration. Have you taken to dealership?

No I not taken it to a dealership yet. I’m trying to resolve this problem myself before I resort to the dealership. The ones around here have been a pain to work with.

Heard that same here with dealership.
That’s pretty significant. They need to fix that.

I’m taking mine to dealership. There needs to be documentation on this problem.Toyota knows about it
but really can’t find a solution. That is what a service tech. Told me yesterday. If they did there would be
A recall and letter sent out. From what I understand some dealerships are throwing parts at them trying
to fix them with no 100 percent fix. Some are saying it’s better but not 100 percent. Very disappointed!
    I guess you’re just lucky if you get 1 that’s fine.Thats what I don’t understand why some are fine.I
Think everyone here needs to take to dealership if they can to get it documented then maybe they will
do more research to resolve. Any thoughts? Thanks

I can’t hear your video but I have exact what you describe. I can feather the gas and make it louder or go away. 2018 OR. Dealership told me normal operation.

I’m pretty sure I fixed it. I got OME carrier bearing drop kit and installed that. Basically just two 8mm spacers that lower the driveshaft ever so slightly. Super easy to do and only cost like $15.

It was a pretty significant shaking/shuddering so I’m quite surprised, but I do think it’s corrected now.

    lift doing the vibration.

yeah... they basically are siding with the techs and am getting 'well what do you want to do about it'. I felt like my only option is a buy back. I think we started that which could take 40 days or so. The person was supposed to call me back and never did. I started to wait on the 15 minute hold time on the phone but hung up. i sent another email to the generic contact and name dropped the person.

In order to arbitrate successfully, the dealer needs to show multiple attempts to correct the issue. So if the RO says “no problem found” or “normal operation”, those do not count as attempts. I hope you can get a favorable outcome, whatever that looks like for you.
