Long story, but neighbors kid pulled out of their driveway in a lifted F250 and t-boned my taco at full throttle.

Looks like the axel might have a been damaged as it jammed the passenger side wheel against the curb when it hit the driver side wheel.

Wondering if I should push for repair or total? They have good USAA insurance and have assumed all liability. I’m not looking to take advantage, just want it to be reliable long term.

    Thoughts?

Unless they managed to bend the frame I'm not sure how you could justify totalling that.

Easy fix. Looks like the majority of the impact was taken by the axle and not the frame.

Your looking at a new bed side, new wheels/tires, and a new axle (maybe)

Thats what I figure. Heading to the shop today and they’ll put it on the frame machine to check it.

Pics don’t really do it justice. It was a hard impact. I watched it happen from 30’ away. Crazy to watch.

I'd have probably said a dirty word or two before questioning the integrity of the other driver's abilities.

Man i thought mine was bad too, they will fix that. If you have the space I'd recommend pulling your camper shell yourself and storing at your house. My body shop didn't mean to but chipped the corners of mine pulling it off to replace the bed side. Mine had minimal damage to the bed side and they had to put an entire new bed side on it.

Definitely repairable. Be sure to assert a diminish of value (DOV) claim with the insurance company. It provides compensation for the fact that your vehicle will be worth less due to the amount of damage inflicted.

Repair, but I would definitely push for new wheels and axle.

Repair. I say about $6-7K provided no suspension/frame damage. Make sure you inspect your topper and get money for it if damaged.

My ex-Highlander, 6 years ago. Your axle damage looks worse than mine. I also got T-boned. Last estimate I was told was 8K, that was before they totaled it. YMMV
