We'll check that one out, definitely the number 1 priority is the warmth. I love living near the seacoast, 3 hours seems a bit far to me - big change in things. But, we could manage.

No dice on an HOA. I don't care how inexpensive. Never owning property in an HOA, point of principal.

    She isn't, nor am I.

Don’t get me wrong I’d much rather be upstate! But Aiken is actually really nice, where’d you go to the hood for drugs?!! I’d steer clear of Columbia first!

They’re on the same level actually.

I’ve spent a lot of time all over the state. There’s some weird shit out in the middle of no where. I should make a post of some of my SC travels one day.

I think I can convince the wife away from the coast if we could be on a lake :D

She's a yoga instructor so her job kind of requires a bit of a busy area. If we're off in relative small areas, you're lucky to have a second place to teach at, let alone have enough openings for someone to teach enough to earn at, so she typically works at 5-7 different studios, gyms, etc. And to do that "out in the country" would require driving a lot, and at that point it's just not worth your time, let alone financially.

She would do well in the upstate.. not saying she wouldn't at the coast.. but there are a lot of opportunities near Clemson with the college and a lot more health conscious population

Most of South Carolina is shit but I do call it home. I've lived pretty much all over the state and
I prefer the coast. Once my daughter takes off for college I can see myself moving out into the country.
Suburban life in SC is way over crowded now.

Arizona is hot as fuck and riding on that pavement in the summer can be deadly. Desert mtn bike rides are really
awesome with the right weather. I was a professional mtn biker bike in the day but did a lot of training rides on the
road. South Carolina has some good riding both in the woods and on the roads. Greenville has a strong cycling community.
Columbia does too. Cycling on the coast is the most dangerous. You don't see too many people who ride their bikes
to work. If you see a white bike next to the road it's where some cyclist got hit by a car and died. If I was moving west I
would pick Utah or Colorado over Arizona.

Good luck finding a no HOA neighborhood here in a decent area. Yes they can be found but are few and far between if newer.

... My dog passed away this afternoon.. Jake, a Golden Retriever.. i got him from the pound when he was 6 weeks old. He would have been 15 years old in a couple months. I knew he was getting old.. and it was close to time.. but it was unexpected.
