It actually wasn’t a case of being a dick. The guy asked a fairly legitimate question about how building a long travel truck with a ton of mods was a method of preventing veteran suicide.

Gives the vet something to look forward to every day. Long term goals. Duh. No need to even ask the question - it’s quite obvious.

It shouldn’t have been asked, but I don’t know if it’s banworthy.

I don’t know if there was a history of posts that lead to it. In my opinion putting together an expensive truck with the idea of driving around the US on highways to help some people out and then breaking it doesn’t really meet the intent of preventing suicides. It’s cool to have an idea and a goal but a Honda Civic would be better for that purpose in my opinion. Dude can spend his money however he wants though and it is a cool truck.

Let’s get back to the “stereotypical vet attitude” thing. Nine people perished senselessly and vets automatically get an attitude over it?

It happens quite frequently. Someone dies, usually a celebrity, and I see vets say it doesn’t matter because some of us died also. An Army two star just did it after Kobe died. Social media saw an explosion of vets complaining about no one reporting on a 53 that crashed the same day as the Kobe crash, only to discover it happened in 2005.

No ones life matters because we all die. But I don’t relate one death to another either. Maybe the bulk of us regularly in this thread are from the wrong generation but I didn’t see any of that until your post.

Then again, we had the real Van Halen, Linda Carter, and Joe Camel so maybe we’re the right generation.

I agree, death is death and we all will wind up there. I’m proud of what I’ve done and what I do but I find it annoying when some vets feel a need to remind people that they are somehow special. The ones that feel entitled to recognition, discounts, being held in high regard above others, etc. Very, very few vets still alive have fought for true freedom which is the real honor, the rest of us just serve and are ready for when/if we are needed to do that.

Looks like a 240, but even zooming in, it’s hard to tell the size comparison. If he slings anything up there, it should be the M4, the big gun should be ready for a hasty attack or to return fire. You don’t take your main firepower out of the fight.
