I like it. I will say this,
the die may be 120 degrees, but at most ( and with a lot of effort, like a lot ) the most bend I acheived was approx 110, on DOM tube.

but 90 degrees? all day every day, no problem.

Thank you for clearing that up. Will save someone sounding like a flat earther one day.

I finished that gate, just needs some weathering patina now. Also, my leg is doing fine and I didn't manage to further injure myself so that's a plus:anonymous:

There's a hot rod trick to get an even patina without being a crusty, rotten mess: wipe it down with some diesel fuel and give it a good soak, then come back wipe over the whole thing with boiled linseed oil. The linseed oil should dry similar to a clear coat, but it will still allow the steel to patina without getting super rusty. Of course there's the chemical patinas and stuff if you want to get DIY-channel fancy.

If you are sold on a multi process machine, that would be my 1st choice.

Great warrenty, decent build for an inverter machine, HF has great hours if you find yourself in a jam and need consumables. You can try the machine right away to see if you like it or return it if it's not to your satisfaction.

I don't have the skills, time or desire to learn 3 types of welding and practice to be proficient at all 3. I would always gravitate to what I'm the best at.

I'm strictly MIG. If I needed TIG or stick done, I would never be happy with my attempts at those. I'd save time and money and hire those jobs out to those that special ize in that skill.

Amazon has a great return process, but HF wins since you can get refunded much faster. ( As long as there is a HF near by within reason)

This is just my opinion on how it would play out for me.

How does Tig work without a pedal? Ours has a pedal and it’s all I’ve ever used.

Haven't had much time to work on the truck, but I got some done on the bed.

I love this build. Ive been dreaming of a very similar design for over the cab. Did you use a software program to design or just free hand/design build?

The body has so much curves in it, freehand seemed like the way to go.

I'll look into that one. I was going to try the hydrogen peroxide, vinegar and salt spray with a clear coat. In Phoenix it literally takes years to get that rusty look naturally. I put that grape trellis thats next to the gate up last last year and parts of it still look like unfinished steel lol.

I built a quick bench for my patio a few years ago. Wife had a party for her family and we needed more outside seating so I welded up some legs and used a huge plank I had been saving for a special project. Did a quick, messy job of spraying rattle can clear over the metal knowing that I'd redo it later (spoiler alert: I never did). It got some surface rust under the clear as expected and spread but never grew into a deep rust. I kinda like how it looks now and it's just part of the patio now. It gets wet all the time since it's next to our garden and I don't baby it at all. I can get a pic for you later if you want. Clear doesn't like sticking to bare metal and I always warn against it for this reason, but if you actually intend to get some patina, it could be an option.
