Does anyone have their old A-pillar bolts laying around they'd like to get rid of? I sheared one off while hard wiring my dash cam. Thanks!

I did the dual arm, 1 long 1 short. Perfect. I can literally see 100% of the windshield and I'm not hitting it at all when reaching for the blinker...

I hear guys complain about the Xmount... I just don't get it, but to each his own, I've used mine for years now on 4 cars and 2 motorcycles...had the bike go down and the phone doesn't budge.

My issue with the x mount wasn't the security of it, but the connection point of the top left to the phone rested against my volume control buttons. It just didn't fit my phone comfortably was all.

Got it. Yeah I recall one iteration of iPhone I had that it wasn't optimal.

No I'm not. That's too overkill for me, I just have my phone stuck to a magnetic base every now and then when I need it up there.

Correct, the Xtreme. Totally worth it and works great. How can you go wrong with a company named Bird Dawg Industries! I've found that it works best to keep as few RAM arms as possible in your connections. In places like SD where the speed limit is 80 will start to get some vibration if you don't. Then again at 80+ pretty much everything in the Taco starts to vibrate at least a little.

Just installed mine for my iPhone 8+. X grip arms push either the volume or the on/off button on the sides. The only way it doesn’t is if I position it high on the phone but then half the display is behind the steering wheel. Off the bat kind of disappointed since I was stoked to do it. Any body else have that issue? Also I bought just the medium arm and the positioning of that is also a little weird. Might have to buy another short arm for adjustability...

Take a look at the full RAM mount catalog and then order the exact part number you need. Theres a million and one different options.

After reading through all 50+pages to get ideas and several weeks of trying to justify the cost of this mod, I pulled the trigger and went for it. I brought down the overall cost (by $20) by having some of the hardware and the utilizing the factory charging cable in order to hard wire my Garmin GPS. By moving the Garmin to the A-pillar opened up the area below the radio/AC controls. The GPS turns on and off with the ignition key and I'm very happy with the final result.

With 50 years of "projects" I've built up quite a collection of hardware. Very seldom do I have to go to a hardware store, I just rumage until I find what I can use. As for the aluminum spacer I used to extend the Ram mount further out, I believe it came with a tail rack for one of my dirt bikes that wasn't used.
