I just drove thru a auto carwash and the dryer blew out the black plastic gutter seal on the passenger side roof. I was in a hurry but it didn’t appear to be torn. Is this just held in by tension or is it screwed or glued in some way.

    Truck had 4300miles. WTH

Yep, covered under warranty. Take it in. Same thing happened to my 2018 OR and the dealer replaced it, no questions asked.

That’s what I figured. But it doesn’t actually looked damaged in any way

First of all, please stop taking that gorgeous truck through an auto car wash. Hand wash that bish. 2nd of all this is normal and has happened to a bunch of guys, if you had searched. The roof moldings just kind of sit there like a lazy GF.

Seriously going to take it in to the dealership for something like that? Unless theres something wrong with the actual molding itself they are just going to put it back and wonder why you couldn't do it yourself.

99.9% of the time the clips break. That's why it comes out. Piss poor design.

If neither ends are broken just reinstall. No need to take it in unless its broken....

Yeah I had a chance to look at it more carefully. The rear piece has come unglued. I’ll reinstall and glue that rear piece back down. Should be good to go.

Also, yes I should have just searched it. Moment of frustration

Stock adhesion is just a strip of double sided foam tape. Only one piece, and sort of towards the front if I remember correctly. That’s suspect though. And of course the clips at the ends.

that’s what it looked like. It had a slight orangish color. I thought something rusted but it was just the tape/adhesive
