The Island of Misfit Toys: Randomness/Build Thread

I did the 20" bar and I like it (although I rarely use it). I don't have the cut-outs and, having used the winch only 2-3 times, don't feel I need them. If I used the winch more often, I would get them.

 

I didn't get the cut outs either. The 10-S Platinum has the electronic clutch, so not much need to reach in there anyways. I just don't want to look like some jackass with 40,000,000,000 lumens worth of lighting emanating from the front of the truck. I don't have a messianic complex and don't want the truck to look that way either I question the utility of having ANOTHER light bar up front.

 

Got a special USB to nest my phone on the Qi charger

The light bar is so bright that the reflection off of road signs was enough to turn off my auto brights... Good looking out from BD!

I got word today that my SSO is finally being welded today! I'm going on 9 weeks now and am chomping at the bit now that it's actually started production.

I'm not building mine slowly! haha I have to ask: why'd you put the sport bar in the bed? Do you just like the aesthetic?

 

Yes, I do like aesthetics, but I'm going to put a 48" light bar on top.

Here in the next week I'm putting on a front Road Armor bumper w/lone-star grill, having it line-x in army green, and putting a winch and lights on it. should look cool, i hope.

You from Texas? I see the look you're going for. You don't think that will be too much green? I imagine you'll be doing a 4-6" lift too. BDS?

 

Not I'm not from Texas. I have already seen a test sample and it look good. As for the brush guard, I will be moving down to central America here in a few years and it will come in handy. Plus, it will scare away the crazy drivers. lol

 

You going to lift? What winch are you getting?

 

My photo is a little old, but it is already lifted two inches, I have to get a current photo though. I still have some traverse left on my king suspension and I'm going to see if they can raise it more.

 

I'm looking at either a Smitty built or a warn, but the warns are expensive.
