Ingredients Required for LT

Hey all-

I am posting this because I can't seem to find the info I want using search.

I have camburg uca and fabtech 2.5 dirt logic coilovers. If I wanted to go LT - could I add a lca, spindle gusset, limit straps, and mod. axle??? Would these coilovers be too short?

I can't seem to find the actual extended length for the coilovers, but if all I need is the lca to get started...I may start looking around on dezert rangers for some used parts

Thoughts?

 

average LT kit uses 8" coilovers... 16" compressed, 24" extended... with the LCAs 3" to 4" over stock, the aftermarket UCAs you have will be too short...

 

From what I have researched the LT UCA's are longer than the Mid travel UCA's. You will essentially need new everything.

 

As above said, new shocks, uca's. From what i remember you can use replacement coilovers with the Camburg kit but you won't get the travel with those coilovers.

 

ah shit - looks like i will stick to my setup. Or buy one pre-built and sell mine. This hobby is a disease - most expensive hobby i've ever had.

 

Just figure you are going to spend an average of 3-4k for a basic setup for front end only. Something more extreme figure 5-7k(full race kit)

 

$3-4 on the kit, plus the cost of the coil overs.

How do you figure? engage is 1900 last I checked plus coilovers you can find them used all the time for around 500-600 that only puts you at 2500 bucks. New coilovers are around a grand. so your at 2900 that route.Camburg around 2300 plus coilovers and TC im sure its not that far off from camburg

Allpro sells a temporary fix for LT guys without the coin for new shocks...Also dont get me wrong You need proper shocks for LT

TC is like $1000 more than engage... for less metal

After I get my truck caged I plan to put my engage gen 2(tubed upper and lower) kit up for sale. It has mounts to use a stock replacement coilover unlike there new setup. But Im guessing at least another year.

 

word, i want a cab cage too... and a supercharger... sucks being poor

 

That's my truck in the pictures, the spacer is a great temporary solution. I've had it on for a few months with no complaints.

But I'm getting my Fox 2.5's RR today, so I'll report on the difference.

 

I wonder why not many people talk about camburgs LT?

 

thats what i plan on getting.. there LCA are strong as shit....

 

All pro 4x4 kit does NOT use limiting straps.... cuz your getting about 13" of travel... anymore your fuck up your cv's.... Check MxPatriot build.... from my understanding the all pro kit has a specific fox shock that is made for them... a 7" shock IIRC... also the all pro isnt as wide either...

 

That's correct, it's 2'' wider per side and uses it's own shock. With an 8'' shock I'd lose up travel and would require limiting straps.
