We used to make them out of a trashed distributor and just spin the pump with a drill till oil was coming out of the push rods . Same as your setup @Tacoma Mike ?? I might one day build an engine again so ..;)

No idea guy I built my engines with long ago showed that trick to me , along with where to get the clips to fit over the lifters to keep oil from spraying every where when adjusting lash. Though I came up with cutting a set old valve covers tops off so we didn't have oil running over the side on to the headers . I think he still has them though it has been 27 yrs or so lol

I carried this in trunk along with spare 3/8” pushrods. Big block Chevy and a young right foot was always a bad combo.
Changed out a few one day outside a 7-11 and back at it :burnrubber:

You always want to pre oil any assembled motor just before first start.
Even if you had a dyno sheet with the motor I’d still want to pre oil the first time.
But to be honest they are not pre oiled per say.
Ours are not complete engines anyway and they are not dripping oil in the transport bag.

I had a set of those too.
Then I went with my “oily finger” trick at TDC.
    No more spraying oil..
I also went to edge orifice lifters instead of piddle.
Like 40% less oil to the top.
Still threw a shit load of oil
