I had some big issues myself man I’ve been there.
Far from sober today but limit my intake to and
If I hadn’t met and married my wife I’m afraid things would be vastly different for me. Crazy how one thing can change your outlook completely no?
I was such a different person before I met her and feel so much better now. Life is really good at the moment.
Hopefully things are good for you too?

Today I did not wake up and throw up yellow bile from my drinking last night. I didnt wake up withdrawling from opiates, throw up then take some, go back to bed till they kicked in so I could start my day.


So yeah compared to how it use to be, I'm fucking great. For my kind to have that obsession of mind (to stay loaded) gone its fucking amazing.

 

I've fallen asleep in the dentists chair, Dr exam table. Can't remember the shit they gave me for the kidney stones to get my system to calm the heck down. They couldn't believe I drove myself to the ER lol.

As you already know I know the opiate struggle. Clean 3 and a half years... but I can't claim to be "Clean and sober"... because sober not so much. Doing better but still not off alchohol. Strange since I loved opiates and really dont like alchohol. Cold Turkey from opiates after my final spine surgery and went through the withdrawals. I've never looked back.

But for some reason I keep drinking... ease of access maybe? My tendency to not sleep?

Idk... but I have made progress! One day at a time!

Ironically I have control over only some things. I can drink and use cannabis and not have a single issue.
Opioids are and have always been my problem and I have to stay completely away from them unless absolutely necessary (post surgery and nothing else).
I used them for ten years due to the issues with my spine and fell into a deep pile of shit.
Started getting off of them just before I met my wife and haven’t looked back.
Feel so much better as a result.
My son has had drug and alcohol issues and has to abstain from everything. He fucking hates normies so he doesn’t come around much

Be proud of this. You are still young and have learned some valuable life-lessons that often aren't taught/learned until too late in people's lives. One day at a time is right.
