The price difference between a loaded OR and Pro would have had to be 10k to get me OTD in a OR. Then I’d take my 10k and stick it into my OR......... JUST PLAYING !!!! I’ve lost my ass too many times dumping money into aftermarket stuff. I plan on keeping the truck till the wheels fall off , but I’ve said that too many times about too many vehicles. Time will tell. I might have a monster built Pro in 5 years.......... Or I might not have the truck at all. :goingcrazy:

Obviously, the price depends on how each truck is equipped. If they are comparably optioned, there is no way the price will be that close. Also, some people just don't want the Pro, myself included. I wanted a truck I could customize my own way.

Does the pro come with all the extra options though stock? I thought it was already fully equipped. As in it has the premium package and advanced tech. Obviously it may not have all of the options like running boards, tonneau, bed lights, etc.. but aren't all of the pros fully loaded as far as premium packages and tech?

I always say that I'll keep my vehicles forever when I first get them, but over time some disappointment about the vehicle always emerges and I wind up getting something else.

As someone who's driven manual vehicles for over 15 years, I'm already hating the 6 speed auto in my brand new DCLB OR. I just got the truck this week and I love it overall, but can't stand the transmission. I sacrificed the manual for the long bed and now I regret it.

You are correct. The Pros come with all the packages. Premium, tech, LED headlights, additional Pro specific package, etc.

It doesn't matter if they're factory options or accessories, they still factor into the price. In any case, if both trucks have identical options/accessories, you're not getting a pro for just $2000 more, not gonna happen.

I'm not disagreeing, I just really wasn't aware if they came with all the packages. I didn't mean to have it come off that way.

I too am looking at either a sport or OR with premium and tech and have found it to be anywhere from 5-9k less. MSRP's are close, but the discounts given on non Pro models makes the final price difference substantial

But to both of your points, the Pro and Limited do have one option not available and that's the Long Bed which the OR does offer in the DC. That's why I am going with OR, my 2012 has the SB and I have found it a little, well short, several times for my uses.

I think you could get it lower. Or go up a little bit and get the premium tech package with the heated seats, jbl, and dash maps(not meaning apple car play or Android auto).. just my opinion

I'm curious what discounts are people who special ordered their trucks getting? I'm sure it's not as good as buying off the lot, but that's to be expected.

Depends on the dealer and your negotiation skills. The thing is if you pick the vehicle up right away that makes the dealer look really good to the manufacturer as it's just an allotment to the dealer Also means they probably get more back.

I special ordered mine and it arrived at the dealership yesterday. Sticker is 46,196 and have if negotiated at 40,738.10 plus ttl. They claim because of this price they won't do pay off on my 2012 and offered me 2500 under payoff which is also on the low end of trade in. Not sure I can change their mind.

This is only the 2nd AT I’ve ever bought. I started driving in the mid 90’s, so long enough ago. Lol. I love it in the city because traffic is so much easier mentally and I like it off road because I’m not smoking clutches etc. You’ll get used to it , but I do still have my old truck with a manual I like banging gears in.

Sorry man , but you’re wrong if you shopped around my area. A loaded out the ass OR vs a stock ( all are loaded ) Pro that was the price difference. I paid about $2k more for the Pro versus a OR that was loaded. The Pro and OR models had the same discounts going on in August and my dealer was sitting on 4 Pro trucks knowing they needed to be sold before the 2020 came in. I bet those guys sold 20 Tacoma’s the week or so before they got a 2020 on the lot.................. They are different though. The Pro had Fox suspension that is awesome , great looking wheels and better resale value because they are limited in production to about 5k Pro Tacoma’s per model year. Not to mention almost everyone that buys a OR tries to clone it to look like a Pro. They swap the grill before they get home it seems like. Lol. Agh , forgot. The Pro also comes with a TRD higher flow Catback exhaust that has a nice mellow sound.

You can get a 2020 Pro for about 2K more than what people are paying for a loaded OR now.
2020 Pro MT about $42,500. Loaded OR around $40,000-$41,000.

That seems about right man. I paid 42.8k for my 19 Pro. My region sells a ton of trucks , so they don’t mark the Pro models up like crazy. Before discounts the comparable OR is like 45k versus 47k for a Pro. You can get the same discounts on both if you take some time at a good dealer.

I could be wrong. I've never been interested in the Pro, personally, so I haven't followed it too closely, other than what I read on here. Plus the lust after 2020 trucks is starting to fade by now.

I was the opposite, mine was a dealer trade so not as much discount but negotiated trade up to 1000 less than high retail
