Best forum for identifying a shotgun?
My dad bought this 16 gauge today for $100, finish is really rough and we can’t really tell what the stamp says.
It appears to say “35” under the stamp that’s legible, I would assume that it’s likely a model number, under the butt pad were a few stamps but nothing that meant anything to me.
And yes, that’s a machine screw as the front bead.

Thanks! hopefully we can clean it up a little bit and see what variant it was, I doubt it's a stevens.

I’m basing my guess entirely on the lever to break it open but shotguns were often made by 1 company and then branded for a local store or Sears or some shit

I looked up photos and it's a carbon copy, I'm slightly familiar with the whole "one manufacturer, multiple names" deal, I have a Marlin 336 that's actually a Glenfield Mod. 30A, and a Marlin Model 60 that's actually a Glenfield Mod. 75C, both were given to me by my Grandpa.

FINALLY got my YHM QD Flash Hider mounted. Had to soak the previous mount (rocksett) in boiling water for nearly an hour before it would budge.

Expecting the Stamp for the YHM Turbo to arrive any day now.

I would be a first time handgun owner in the market for a CZ P-10 Compact. My gun knowledge is lowish but it was very well reviewed.

Anyone have an opinion either way on that gun? I can get one new for $409.

I’m not personally a fan of CZ, however, objectively, they make great gats. The p10c holds its own against all the other popular guns in its class.

By many accounts, the P10C is a better Gen 5 Glock. The ones I've fired and held made me have second thoughts about my P07.

To each their own, but I’m not a fan of polymer CZ pistols. The CZ-75 SP01 on the other hand, that’s a different story.

I think that currently the best value for an entry level polymer pistol is S&W M&P. I’m a big fan of the Gen3 & Gen4 Glocks, but the finishes in the Gen5’s leave a lot to be desired for me. Glocks are super reliable and mags and such are available everywhere.

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
I've owned (and still do) handguns made by just about every major manufacturer. If the government said I could only keep one handgun from my safe, it would 100% be my CZ 75 SP-01 Shadow. Wouldn't even be a contest. The Sigs, Glocks, Berettas, Kimbers Smith's, etc. would go in a pile, but not my Shadow. So fun, fast, and accurate.

I am a fan of CZ, however I have never warmed up to the P-10. I like the DA/SA trigger with hammer. All the 75 series are winners in my book. Check out a 75 D compact PCR, alum alloy frame, and is slightly lighter than the P-07 polymer. I scored this PCR for $450 locally, in like new used condition (PCR bottom, P-07 top)

come on over here to this thread for all things CZ

Gahh, you're going to make me buy one. I've been eyeballing the P-07 suppressor ready for a while. I have a few striker fired pistols which are all reliable and shoot well but I find that my DA/SA hammer fired guns are just so much more enjoyable to shoot.

I need to get stop making excuses and buy the P365XL that I decided I need and then this will probably be next on the list for handguns.

Thanks for the responses. I'm going to get a background check today and then try to get to the store on Saturday morning and check some handguns out. Is there a manufacturer that I should avoid?
