Help with security bypass for remote start

Hi, I'm installing a remote start on my 2011 tacoma. I was wondering if this:

is all I need to bypass the immobilizer. it is the Model 791 bypass. I guess you have to put a key in it. if this is true, where does this module go? like, can I hide it behind the dash so no one can find the key inside it? and do I have to use the key that came with my truck instead of like a copy that's made at walmart? If anyone has experience with the bypass, or wants to recommend something for me, I would appreciate it. I also saw something on that website called an interface bypass module which was about $100 dollars. what is the difference of that??

What kind of alarm do you have on the truck? Make sure it's not just a keyless entry system with a lame factory window sticker. If it is, I would go aftermarket for a better unit with more options, not to mention the module may not work with factory units.

 

unfortunately, I have no alarm on my truck. I'm low on cash right now so I'm just trying to do one thing at a time..

 

If the sytem you are using requires a box for the key so that it is able to disengage the immobilizer. You will have to have a programmed chip key, which is a duplicate of your factory key. The key has a chip in in it which is programmed to your vehicle. Costs about 100 bucks a key. I am not sure what there "interface bypass" does. A plain duplicate like you can buy at Walmart will get you into your vehicle but will never start it. You can hide the box up in the dash anywhere you want to so that it is out of sight.

 

Ok, well luckily when I bought the truck, they gave me two keys so I think I should be good using one of those.
