Having room for some people playing beer pong, some lounging on the couch, and some making drinks or cooking; all at the same time in a warm enclosed space in January is a win

Ok fellas, Footballs about done, weathers crappy so let’s get together for a beer and some food! Next Sunday the 9th around 5:00 at Sams Sports Bar Old Hickory, (Blue Turtle Bay Marina.). Catch up with some old buds and meet some new. Significant others always welcome. I’ll try reserving the private back room so a head count is appreciated for appropriate seating. Let me know if y’all can make it and hope to see you there!

Hey guys, new owner of a 2020 SR V6 4x4 in Bowling Green KY. Which shop in the Nashville area do y'all recommend for a gear swap? I plan to be pulling a camper trailer soon and have read that installing 4.88 or even 5.29 gears will make towing much easier. I plan to stay stock size tires, 265/70/16 on the truck now. My truck is an auto and I already have the ECT always on mod installed which helps since the truck is gutless with it off. Thanks.

Ordering the diffs from east coast gear supply is the best option. They’ll send you a complete built diff for you to install. Then you ship them your original diffs back and get a core refund. Their prices are fair, and their customer service is impeccable.

But if you’re set on letting a shop do it, I have no idea who to recommend.

Also, play around with this calculator to figure out what ratio is best for you. Sure, 5.29 with 31” tires will give you all the power, but is it worth turning 4K rpm at 55mph?

I wouldn’t change gearsets on stock tires. 4.88’s and 5.29’s will have you screaming on the highway and build a bunch of heat in the diff under high towing loads compared to 3.73’s or 4.10’s. Don’t get too caught up in the forum hypochondriacs that feel a need to change everything on their brand new truck because Toyota doesn’t know what they are doing

Just lock the trans out of 5th and 6th and call it a day for towing. It’ll keep you in the power band of the engine and avoid hunting for gears.
