Still ugly... doesn't look much different than the current model.

    What do you know...?

A 1996 Pathfinder, in the exact same color mine was with the off-road package, riding on 3rd Gen T4R alloys!

I think the current Frontier is a good truck because it is still an old design and not infected by Renault

This was the exact one my parents owned from May 1996 to September 2009, but ours had the under-mount (pickup truck style) spare tire instead of having it on the back...

I don't dislike Frontiers because they are unreliable or poorly made; They are quite well-made...

I've driven a few 2005-present Frontiers and fine them to have a rough ride and Nimitz-class turning circle compared to a Tacoma...

My uncle has a 2002 Nissan Frontier and that thing has freezer-grade A/C!

    @shakerhood

So, it sounds like Nissan is metaphorically on death row?

Actually, I do believe that my uncle's Frontier has the same engine as the 1996-2001ish Pathfinders; My Pathy was an automatic and my uncle's is a 5-speed though...

Uncle's truck has 130K miles and the original clutch!

I mean obviously this is a tacoma forum, I know the audience....the adaptive cruise in the tacoma is the only thing that kept me out of the Frontier instead. The headlights were a moderate concern, but I can replace those easily.

I paid 36k + TTL for a 2020 TRD OR. I could have gotten a P4x with more (heated seats, etc) for way less. Just as reliable, mileage probably just as good for city driving (I'm getting a shade under 17MPG city in the tacoma). Let alone if I'd gotten the SV. Probably closer to 10k less for a slightly used P4X, which has a normal used market compared to the strong used tacoma value.

Not excited to see the next gen frontier. And the rest of their lineup is meh at best. But the frontier is awesome, and if I was getting a truck and a second car then I'd have gotten the frontier no questions asked, and gotten an econobox with the adaptive cruise.

I still have fond memories of riding shotgun in my dad's '96 Pathy when I was like 14-15 years old, cranking Meat Loaf...

    :headbang:

Though now I can really crank Bat Out of Hell in my Taco with the stereo I've got now!

I think that the current Titan is a bit of a let-down...

    PS turning radius.

    2016 SWB tacoma 20.3'
    2016 Frontier 21.6'

So full circle 40.5' and 43'

On paper, the turning circles are really close. It's worse than a smart car, but comparing to the tacoma (for example), they're pretty close. And for shits and giggles, the Colorado is 20.6 so similar to the tacoma. Prius is 16 3/4' rad so full circle 33.5', The smart car full circle is 23' :D :D

Oh for sure, but it's new. The frontier isn't new so it hasn't been jacked up by Nissan yet :)

Also, I've never driven a DC Tacoma, only AC and RC; I might be spoiled by the turning radius of my truck since it was the smallest you could get...

The original Titan had some quality and reliability if I remember correctly, but they were solid trucks in my opinion; I go the Carlisle Truck Nationals every year and the 1st Gen Titan turnout is proof that they have a loyal following!

Nissan was in trouble back in 2002-2004 or if I remember correctly, and they managed to pull themselves back from the brink...

With Renault at the helm now it's hard to have a positive outlook.

    I mentioned those earlier...

My dad almost bought one instead of a Celica GT back in 1983 because you could get a new one with A/C for like seven grand!
