I have a camper overhang on my 2017 Tacoma that blocks my Shark Fin Antenna. I would like to plug in another Satellite antenna I have from another radio. But it won't fit the hole. Looking for the right adapter, OR antenna if I have to.

See photo. 1,2 and 3 are the stock shark fitting. 4 is the ext I had laying around. Need to plug 4 into hole on back of stock radio. (i'm assuming I have the correct hole also.).

Anyone dealt with this scenario? Thanks, can't seem to find what I'm looking for on Amazon.

Say, whatever happened to the traditional vertical antennas for AM/FM reception? It looks like the 1st & 2nd generations had 'em on the passenger's side, but they got rid of 'em on the 3rd generations. I don't suppose those little shark fins receive the radio stations as well?

They do. The SR model only has AM/FM and the SR5 and up have both AM/FM and XM inside the fin.

But I doubt the reception will be as good as the longer whip antennas. The shark fins are too small/short and likely would get poor reception. I'm seeing a few other threads on here where people are saying they get lousy AM/FM reception.
