    Never enough
Saw those shortly after I had mine installed and immediately thought ....fuck...then I saw the price tag. Looks amazing though. I'm definitely happy with what I have, that being said, if I won the lottery...lol

What's the thinking of skinny vs wider tires?

Skinny - better for on road? Less road resistance = better mpgs?
Wide - better for off road? More contact area for soft surfaces?

Please enjoy, laugh away - I don't mind at all.

I started my first day of being back to work today. I started digging into this Merc four stroke. Water in the fuel and it's been sitting.
    20200130_094722.jpg

    20200130_094611.jpg

I only worked on it for about 10 minutes when I got a call from my boss. "Hey we got a hot one (a killer deal) and we gotta go. Can you tow with your truck yet?"
    (Long awkward pause.)
    "Yeah yeah yeah no problem."
    We get to the boat.
Me: "Oh, that's a heavy boat."
    20200130_121920.jpg
Well it turned out the boat's weight bent my custom hitch that I've never tried before. So I got the great idea to smash my hitch with the Bobcat's bucket to try to bend it back up so when I get home I can just weld in a ton of gussets.
    20200130_145813.jpg
Btw, I'm not good with a Bobcat.
So I position the Bobcat's hitch under mine and slam the up pedal down and the bucket slams up into the truck's hitch, my foot is stuck somehow, the truck keeps going up, the back tires are really off the ground now, probably 3 feet or so, my left shoelace (rookie move!!!) is stuck in the Bobcat's bucket pedal linkage, I'm lifting my left foot as hard as I can and it's just barely above the pedal, my right leg is bouncing uncontrollably (nerves), and I'm hysterically laughing, while looking down and pulling the shoelace out of the linkage the bucket slips off of my hitch, the trucks drops about a foot with a loud "crunch" sound, rear tires are still off of the ground, and I get my nerves together (still laughing) and go look at my baby.
    20200130_143836.jpg
"So that's how the previous owner did that damage." It had identical damage when I bought the truck and I bought the truck from my new boss. Lmao.

So once again I used my foot (and a hammer) to get the tailgate to where it would open again. I actually wanted to remove the tailgate to beat on it but @christian06 's awesome anti-theft device was on there and I didn't have a torx bit. Lol.
    20200130_145232.jpg
I didn't make one dime today but I'll definitely make up for it when the boat is resold, bigtime.

Overall it was an excellent day. I hope you all enjoyed yours.

Dude, practice with the bobcat and youll be able to pick up a dime with it and pop perpetual wheelies lol

Did a couple dump runs for my lil ol lady neighbor then hosed the ick out of the bed and my quad trailer.

One of the downfalls of owning a truck I guess.

Oh well, full gas tank, lunch and $20....

A couple people asked for a follow-up when I posted my turn signal pigtails after they arrived, so here you go.

I saw post #10 on this thread, and seemed simple enough. I didn't like the idea of just smashing a wire into a hole and using silicone to seal and hold it though

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/cheap-free-mods.4838/#post-45435

So I jumped over to Fleabay, and found this:

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/3-Way-3-Pi...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

I don't recall, but I think it was just under 2 weeks and I received this:

So today after work, I went to my workbench, and low and behold, it appears someone absconded with my soldering pen. Oh well, nothing wrong with using butt connectors, as long as you are careful to make sure you have good connections and crimp them properly. The wiring itself is pretty straight forward, as mentioned in the other thread. I cut the factory 2-wire plugs off the turn harness, then oriented the new ends the same direction and wired them according to position. As it turns out, at least on my 2007, red wire on old harness goes to red wire on new, and white wire on old harness goes to yellow wire on new. This leaves you with the black wire left on the new pigtail. The green wire on the factory parking light harness is the one you want, both left and right. You could use a t-tap to get your connection, or solder, or as I did, use butt connectors:

A little heat shrink never hurt either. I trimmed the plastic wiring loom accordingly, then used electrical tape to hold everything firmly in place so that I don't have anything vibrating loose over time. The electrical tape should also help keep dirt and grime out of the connections:

Once it was all taped up and I was confident everything was snug and secure, I plugged the bulb back into the harness, and then back into its home:

It doesn't quite look factory, since I was out of the next size up plastic split loom, and the tape is all new and shiny. I will pick up some short pieces of scrap loom at work when I get a chance, and once that's installed and the tape gets dirtied up a bit, it should look close enough to stock to make me happy.

    Here's the end result:

My truck came from the factory with a 2-filament bulb, even though it didn't come with Daytime Running Lights, so I didn't have to buy any. Operation is the same as before, with the addition of the dimmer of the two turn signal bulb filaments now lighting up with my parking lights. Turn signals still fire the brighter filaments, and the parking lights still turn off when the ignition is switched off and the driver's door opens. Basically, if I leave the switch in the parking light position, and don't pull a Dukes of Hazzard and climb out the window, they function just like DRLs, except I also have the option of turning them on when the ignition is switched off. I thought about switching the wires so that the brighter filament fired with the parking lights, but I didn't like the idea of making my turn signal dimmer, and I think the dimmer filament matches the intensity of the outside parking lights. Comments welcome.

Dobinson’s coils and shocks. SOS sliders, ditch light brackets, and front skid. Rigid ditch lights. BFG KO(dos) More minor stuff.
Work pays for mine by sending me a check twice a month. 70ish miles a day back and forth racks them up. I wish they would give me something or my wife would give in and move. Only one of us gets a regular hour or more commute.

    Crying over. Moving on.

You basically nailed it. Mainly weight for mpg while retaining a true 33 height. They usually don't require as much trimming. I'm usually able to find them very affordably as well. I'm very hooked on this size.

Got up under her with a needle scaler today in hopes of finding a hole somewhere under my surface rust.... no luck. Only hole i found was in my exhaust. Looking at getting a magnaflow put on tomorrow at the local exhaust shop after i take her to the dealership for a frame inspection.
