got my truck apart today, and was going to put in wheelers 3 leaf add a leafs in the back for 1.5 inches of lift.
anyone put these in, that can give me some pointers? the alignment brackets on the 3 leaf add a leaf that I am putting in, are in the way of the original alignment bracket on the original leaf....
I know the short side of the leaf goes forward.
I am reading the directions step by step....
I am about to grind the original leaf alignment bracket off, but I cannot find a youtube video to help.
    thanks guys.

(wife gets home in 2 hours from now, I gotta hustle)!!

You have to grind it off, from what I remember reading. Otherwise you can’t properly install the AAL.

On my second gen I had to grind some of the original ones off.

Hopefully someone in this thread can help, I've run into the same problem as OP and just looking for some clarity. The stock alignment bracket I'm understanding you all say must be cut off is also where the emergency brake line gets mounted, what do I do with the e brake line after I cut that bracket off?

I don’t remember having to relocate the e brake bracket, is the aal pointed the right direction?

Just realized this is the 3rd gen forum, I have a second gen. I'm guessing the e brake line is ran somewhere else for you guys. Might have to just zip tie it in place for now until I can get my taps from work tomorrow night, then drill and tap a new hole in the AAL bracket when I get a chance

And no matter which direction that second leaf goes it runs into one of the OEM brackets on the overload spring

Well shit. I've got one side apart and wanted to get this done tonight as I have to work all weekend. Should I just cut one or the other or am I better if putting it back together and calling wheelers in the morning?

20200130_204139.jpg you can see the overload spring is what my green gloved hand is on, with the bolt that holds the e brake line in place. Then underneath that is the AAL spring lined up. Those two brackets are in the same spot when it's all together, and if I spin the AAL around that breaker his the OEM alignment bracket on the rear

I suppose... But I kinda wanted to try that extra half inch before I cut the center bolt to length. Also, the center bolt doesn't quite have enough threads to compress the whole assembly without the overload in, and I don't know what might happen without it fully compressed

Right on man, thanks for taking the time to help. Where's that pic from? Looks like they cut the overload bracket too.
