In September of 2018 I brought my 2017 Tacoma in for a blower motor replacement as part of a recall. The AC had been acting up intermittently. Last week, while doing a routine check-over, I noticed a bolt missing from just above the alternator. As I've never done any work under the hood on this truck save for oil changes, I'm guessing the dealership is at fault. Before I contact them, I want your opinion as to their culpability. I'm assuming that work involving the AC and the blower motor might involve removing the bolt in question? I suppose it could have also been missing from the factory. Do you think the dealership will pony up for the bolt? If not, do you know where i can find the specs for the bolt so I can replace it myself. Thanks.IMG_1374.jpg

But you should definitely replace that then demand the dealer reimburse you

The blower motor is actually in the dash, specifically behind the glove box.

Also, it seems that same missing bolt has been questioned before, and that is normal. Looking at it, it appears to be a mounting point for something else, because if it held the alternator on it would not be threaded up top, I wouldn't think. I will look at my truck when I get home to compare.

Edit to add, here is my 2018 Sport. I think you can relax.

The culpability is on you as those tick marks indicate a task or operation has been completed.

Finally, an instance when 'that is Normal' actually means 'that is Normal'.

Is your washer fluid low from the repairs as well?

Did they use fuel instead of pushing the truck into the shop?
