    Greetings everyone,

It seems we've been getting noticed a ton here thanks to some of our potential interested customers. We figured we should make an impression on here to see if we can answer a few questions.

First off, here's a few images of our prototype bumpers, new photos of the production set should be incoming shortly. More photos can be found on our website @ www.Apogeeoffroad.comIMG_2191.jpg IMG_2189.jpg

The most frequently asked question we receive are about our BSM brackets. Lets see if I can clear some up here.

    1) Do they actually work?

To be frank, they work perfectly. In recent testing the only corrections we had to make were merely cosmetic fitment issues.

    2) How hard are they to install in the bumper?

Easy as pie. Our bumper comes with pre-drilled holes to mount the brackets and necessary hardware will be included for installation.

    3) When can we expect these to hit the website?

From this point were hoping for less than a month.

    4) Do they come standard with the rear bumper?

No, they will be offered as a separate option on our website at an unknown value at this time.

    Now, onto the front bumper.

Our bumper is set to stand out from the rest. It accepts most any aftermarket winch you can throw at it, and during testing it could easily withstand 9000 lbs. of stagnant weight. You can re-use your OEM foglights if you choose with our OEM fog light brackets, or if you prefer LEDs, it can hold a multitude of different choices (Our pick would be Baja Designs Squadron Pro's). A recent wheeling trip was taken with our Tacoma to check various clearances which are greatly improved over stock.

    Next, our rear bumper.

This has to be our most anticipated and asked about product in collaboration with the BSM functionality.

The rear bumper features a hidden receiver hitch behind an optional fold down license plate cover. (More detailed photos up on the website). Its capacity isn't accurately rated for a specific weight per say, however in testing, we loaded it down with a close to 9500 lbs. trailer. In our minds, this is more than adequate for a Tacoma, considering you wouldn't want to tow on the rear bump stops! :)

Our rear bumper has the highest departure angle of any non bed side cut bumper on the market.

You can re-use your OEM license plate light housings. They simply click into place in our bumper.

Speaking of OEM tech features, you can also re-use your OEM parking sensors with our pre-drilled holes.

If for whatever reason you don't have the BSM feature, the side pockets make for a convenient side step into the bed.

You can also integrate rear LED's with our pre-cut slots, which are more suited for Baja Designs S2 Flush Mounts.

More great things are coming for you Tacoma guys! Were currently working on all skid plates. Expect a tire carrier option and rock sliders as well!

Please feel free to comment on this post or email us directly at Info@apogeeoffroad.com for any other Apogee Off Road related questions or quotes. Were happy to hear from any of you.

Also note there are more details posted on our website, be sure to check it out!

Weight? Is it supposed to stick out past the fender or will it be flush.

    Very interested!

Does the front have any hoop options?

Also for the rear, do you reuse the stock mount/adjusting BSM hardware or come up with something custom?

I really like the looks, and alleged functionality, Lol. One thing, another mentioned, for my taste, they both stick out too far, like an 1 1/2 inches too far. Just my 2 cents.

I’m diggin’ the functionality of that rear bumper. Will you have aluminum options?

Forgot to add, the bumper sticks out past the taillight about .75” to protect it against rear impacts.

Ryan, I’ll talk with my superiors to see if I can give you guys a teaser shot, but for now all I can say is that they will be flush with the corner pockets! With a slight taper to retain some of the side step feature. A powder coat option can be specified in the order, and we will invoice it appropriately. The reason we offer raw, is that it’s easier to ship without the possibility of blemishes. As of now, I don’t believe there will be an option without the cutouts. Thanks!

Hey there, as of now there’s no plan for front hoops, but I’ll never say never! The rear BSM uses our own 3D printed ABS plastic brackets with covers.

Thanks for the feedback, that’s why we decided to post here in the first place! We’ve been getting mixed reviews on the rear sticking out. Long story short, we wanted to protect that rear quarter and tail light if you wheel hard. Also it allows for the side step to be deeper. As clean as the bumper being flush would be, it’s much more functional this way. If you’re worried about catching it on things like tree branches or rocks, it doesn’t stick out farther than the bedside fenders, and doesn’t catch on much in our experience.

Not worried about catching on things, I just think it looks like you took a larger vehicle bumper and stuck it on this truck. Kind of like a little kid wearing his dad's shoes or something.
