2020 Formula 1 Season Paddock

Always wanted to attend an F1 event. Maybe Montreal this year. ANyone going to it?

 

not going this year but I went 2012 , 13 , 14

 

I keep saying I'm going to the Austin GP but then I end up going somewhere else or impulse buying another project vehicle instead. Someday.

 

Any recommendations since you've been to that one? GF and I are going to do it. Seating areas or other stuff worth seeing/skipping?

 

I think my reply was awkwardly worded. What I meant was, just don't ship the cars to california that don't meet carb regs through other certifications. Ie. EURO 4 or 5. Why jump through the extra hoops.

A bunch of rumors today about 2020 being the last season for the Merc factory team. Rumours about Aston Martin taking over the team, and Stroll becoming the primary partner. May be plausible with the issues with Hamilton's contract.

 

we sit in Grandstand 1 so you get to see the starting grid formed up , plus the action in the pits

definitely get there early for the Thursday open house and bring comfy shoes because its a long walk from the last metro station to the track especially the pit side

 

Yep yep yep. Senna Curve is another nice place to watch, big stands at the end of the main straight. Main grandstand has seats with backs, Senna stands do not, so plan accordingly.

Racing Point set to become Aston Martin Racing in 2021, so it appears Mercedes isn’t changing as mentioned in here earlier

 

They still might leave though if the auto sales continue to decline from what I've read. And by read I mean glanced over some words and stuff.

 

Oh no doubt, just looks like Aston made up their mind who they're going with now. So Mercedes has to hope to sell or bow out gracefully if that's the direction they may or may not be headed lol

 

They could merge with McLaren

 

I think it's more like Lawrence Stroll taking an ownership interest in Aston Martin. He'll be in a position to name any team he owns anything he wants to name it.

what does Racing Point / Aston Martin team have to do with whether or not the Mercedes works team stays in F1 ?

Aston Martin is getting an influx of cash from Lawrence Stroll and Lawrence Stroll then gets to market his Racing Point team as an "Aston Martin works team" except they will still be running Mercedes power

the real question is what happens the Red Bull Aston Martin Honda
