Anything welding

Theres switches for the tig torches. Our welders at work have access to either simple on/off ones, a rocker style one that ups and lowers voltages by a set amount per button press, and one with a roller for changing voltage.
Pretty much nobody here uses a foot pedal but mostly cause its shipboard work and what is done prefab wise the welders are just so used to hand controls by that point

 

Cool design, dont know if this is meant to protect you in a roll over or just keep rocks and trees off the body, but I would continue that angled tube behind the cable down to the bar running over the wheels. If you flopped it onto the roof, that bed bar will bend and possibly cause evreything eldr to bend a crush the cab a bit, kindnof defeating the purpose. If they are just glorified run rails then party on!

 

Thanks for info. I'm definitely going for that weathered look. The gate faces south so as long as I figure something out by summer it should he OK. That shiny new steel will get hot AF lol

 

Not gonna lie but if your making a lot of metal shit that needs a coating.. HF Powder coat gun & Powder + a propane torch.. once you practice a few times you'll have an idea of how hot to get items before dusting them with powder coat so it flash's instantly

 

Yes, more braces are already in the bed portion and it still has the two angled braces from the top of the cab through the bed that you cant see.

2T/4T Torch switch on high frequency start machines. Basically an on-off switch and you control heat with your travel speed

 

I'll check out the powder gun for sure. I'm hoping to start a expo trailer build soon. Powder coating the frame and box was one of the bigger expected cost for the project. I already have a half million BTU torch I use for........weeds....

 

finished building my exhaust for my swap today.

 

Added a few more braces for the main hoop. Hopefully the truck never flops, but if it does, I feel pretty confident that the main hoop will hold up.

 

This "home base hauler trailer camp setup overland luxury" setup is turning pretty alright.. tacked together the drop down 2x4' table today that is attached to the swing out door..

 

I think that should hold up just fine for sure. Awesome progress. I usually hate exo's but this is still damn clean.

 

Welded a new vband flange onto a header I traded to my friend.



The old one was pretty bad lol yes I did the old one too back when I first started welding lol

doing the on/off with mig is well... eh.. isnt that stainless? you really should be tig welding it..

 

If I had a tig I would lol. Did I use the best methods/processes? No but it will hold and it will be coated so not worried about rust. Also its mild steel.

 

it will hold yes - for how long is the question.. doing that on/off shit with a mig causes the previous "mig spot" to become more brittle on an already weak weld.. im not being a dick and you can defend it all ya want.. just being informative and helpful to pressure you to learn to run a weld
