Maxtrax on Prinsu load panels. Nothing special or custom but I did have to cut the mounting pins because they were pretty long.

Bought some brackets at Homedepot for $1 each (total of $8) and used them to mount some maxtrax I bought recently to the victory 4x4 roof rack. Definitely a cheaper (and still very sturdy) option over buying rack mounting plates from $50-$100 each. If I would have known that you can only use TSA style locks on the maxtrax mounts I wouldn’t have used them. They locked up solid and hold down the boards well. Just wish they would accept bigger locks. Probably going to have to use a cable/cord lock around the boards and the rack rails itself.

I believe @planters15 mounted his to Pelican case. I'm not sure if Plano cases (at least hinges on them) would survive so much weight when opened.

Will probably get some brackets to mount them a little lower/under the rail.

@FIRE74 @Sasquatchtaco can I get more details on this? Did you both use c channels? It looks like one of you screwed your bracket straight into the camper shell. How are you using c channel instead of t slot style channels? I really love this but need to figure out how it’s actually done in ways other than the t slot. That’s pricey. Also, are your boards locked on somehow so dirt bags can’t steal them? Is there a way to use max traxx locking pins? I have action traxx boards so I think they are compatible with max trax. Thank you!

I used aluminum C-channel I bought off eBay, then used self tapping stainless steel screws directly into the cap, no leaks, also I use a cable bicycle lock to keep the honest people honest

Couple of brackets from Lowe’s and Maxtrax pins. The holes where spaced out perfectly.

So are the boards mounted to the c channel and it run vertical across the windows or does the channel run parallel to the window and then a different plate goes across the window to mount the boards to?

For anyone running the actual maxtrax mounts.. throw a thin layer of silicone grease on the plastic surfaces where the pins turn to lock/ unlock and the detent tabs land. Makes a huge difference

2 plates, one at each end run vertical too “bridge” the 2 C-channels, then those have bolts in them used as the mounting points for the boards

Gotcha. So similar to the t slot channels running parallel to the window. Nice! Do the mounting plates mount straight down into the channel and the camper or do you have a clever way to attach them to the channel?

I just took a C-channel to the hardware store, and found bolts that slid into the C-channel, then mounted the vertical flat bars to them. If I was home I would send you some pics, but I’m on travel right now
