I luckly have never been baptized into the church of the blue gods in the 12yrs that i used to work the ramp. Had a few trainees not heed my advice and get doused and a few co workers get it pretty good.

We didnt have a truck or cart with a lift on it so I had to use ladders for the 757 and that sucked. Also the damn thing would always drip all over me no matter how long you waited.

So essentially what the RNZAF did. They retro'd two airframes to be 757-2K2s (757-200M) equiv) with a cargo door, new cockpits, etc along with an "engine thrust upgrade". Those things are sports cars! And they braved landing it on the ice field near McMurdo station

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
The KC-135 has "piss tubes," torpedo like cans that you pee in. There is only a ladder up/down from the flight deck, so one has to be very careful going up and down the ladder with the piss tube. One of my airmen was bringing it down one night and the handle broke off... Guess what he got to clean up that night?

I mean, we had a shit box too. We made sure to tell all crews it was ONLY for females or absolute emergencies. Most listened. There were a few who loved to piss us off, and we made sure to take that into account before launch.

Those guys aren't gonna know what to do with themselves with a proper lav on the KC-46. At least that should work the way it's supposed to... :anonymous:

It actually did. I flew on it a few times when I was doing test at Boeing. Just the boom, cargo floor, OBIGGS, nav, etc don't work correctly

We got a new acquisition two weeks ago for our local aviation museum. Unlike a lot of static displays, the cockpits of this one will remain intact. Two Marines from New River Marine Corp Air Station flew it in, and we had a great formal reception for them and the helicopter. It was their last flight as Marines.

Floats version of the AT-802 has a scooper in the float that fills the tank. Used for wildfire suppression.

I’d fly those if given the chance. They do some awesome work up in Alaska, it’s actually fun fixed wing flying which is unusual.

...^^^... I used to visit some friends at (Lockheed-Dobbins AFB in Marietta) MAG 42 until they moved several years ago.

When they moved they were flying that Cobra model - really a sleek looking aircraft in person.

The old A models looked even better with their slim bodies.
