3rd 4Runner seats, Fair Price?

I offered $250 for these seats and I’m just wondering if that’s a fair price in the TW opinion. Too high? Too low? Just right? What did you pay for your 4Runner seats?

 

Way too high. At least with what I've seen. If you get them from a pic n pull I generally see those for 25-35 bucks a bucket seat. Classifieds you'll see em priced like 50+ bucks or so.
BUT when you see actual TACOMA bucket seats those do seem to go for a couple hundred bucks a set. But they slide all the way forward for access to rear, etc. And there is no messing with the feet. But I do believe the fabric and foam and quality of the 4Runner seat to be superior to the Taco bucket. Taco buckets are fine but 4runner buckets are nicer quality. That is one of the plusses the Runner buckets have.
4Runner buckets seats are quite a bit more common compared to Taco buckets

 

That’s what I paid for my Tacoma Limited seats. (Same seats, different base) they were in mint condition though. One of my top 3 upgrades of my build thus far

 

those of you who have done this: is it with the effort to put 20 year old seats into your truck? are they still good?

 

that’s good to know. My seats are terrible, especially the head rests. The metal frame has completely pushed through the foam.

 

I like the 16 year old seats in my 2004. I see no reason to change them with "newer" seats. The seats in my '17 4Runner aren't any more comfortable. I've seen 5 year old seats with more wear and tear, though, so it really depends on the seats.

 

Im not sure I’d even buy those seats and I definitely wouldn’t pay $250 for them, they look pretty dingy.

I’ve heard about people having issues with worn out head rest... Mine are still in good condition so I’m curious how that happens, sun damage?

 

It’s not actually dingy. The runner was wrecked, door glass broke, and the seat cushion got a little went from rain. The 4Runner was very well kept, inside and out. Unfortunate that it was involved in an accident.

 

I changed my vote. I didn't really take too good of a look at the seats. (I was on my phone) They are a little bit worn. I'd say $175- $200 is fair enough.

 

look under the seat for rust!
i tried to get some T4R seats from LKQ corp out of Topeka KS a bit less than $100 each iirc ... looked like they were submerged in a swampy pond because rust galore underneath it
thankfully i did not have to pay after refusal of product after inspection, they had to ship them 200 miles or so to my location

 

Great suggestion! I never would’ve inspected the bottom.

 

Ah ok. I didn’t realize it was just wet, the top portion of the seat looks good.

I’d say 175-200 would be a fair price then. It also kind of depends on how hard it is to find 4runner seats in your area. $250 might not be a bad if they’re hard to get ahold of.
