Sorry if this was addressed already, but does this apply to just the Tablet Tuner only or does it affect both the tuner and the accessory handheld?

 

I kid man, take all the time you need. I’ve tuned with simple platforms before I couldn’t imagine an entire rewrite.

So, I would answer. "Yes, yes, yes, yes, and yes......."
First, think about the guy at the pump before you filling 87. You show up next and hit 91. How much of his gas was in the lines and pump. etc went into your tank before you're 91 nectar got into the system?
Now, let's say the delivery truck was low on 91 from filling other stations. I won't speak to the ethics of your station manager, but my, always cheaper. ghetto station. would rather fill the tanks with 87 and cut the price, rather than post a sign, "NO PREMIUM."

 

So... none of these statements are really accurate. The average hose hold 1/4 of a gallon in the hose. So yes you can get a lower octane from the hose, but not enough to change the octane of a full tank of fuel. Delivery drivers do not hold fuel on the truck. They typically have 4 compartments on the truck and they cannot leave any compartment with fuel if they start a delivery of a compartment, unless there is an issue with delivery, they have to unload the entire compartment for reconciliation purposes unless they have a metered truck. Metered trucks however don't deliver large loads at retail stations. The issue you are seeing between mpg on the same octane is usually the difference in low vs top tier fuel.

 

I have recently been having a slow start issue with my truck and wondering if it could be tune related. I’ve ruled out the battery (by replacing it). It only happens on a fairly rare occasion and only when it’s cool but not cold (the engine). If it’s a super cold day if it sits for 30-45 min sometimes it’ll turn over longer than expected. If it’s in the 40’s or 50’s it’ll take an hour to 3 hours if it has a slow start. If it sits overnight, or more the four hours starts right up with no delay. If it sits for less than 30 minutes it starts right up. On two occasions, one was today, I’ll push the start button and it will crank for 15 seconds and not start at all. Then push again and starts up after a few Cranks. Has anyone ever experienced this and attributed it the tune?
I planned to just Re tune it but it started happening just before Christmas, so figured it wait for the new tune when that was the timeline. Still kind of following that carrot and having the occasional slow start. Everything else runs great, no issues at all once it starts, slowly or normally.

and I’m on the 19800 4.88, 91 octane tune.

 

Is your truck within the fuel pump recall?

 

I filled with 91 and tuned to the 2.0 beta 91 oct for my 04b31 2019 with stock gears. Didn't notice much difference from 87 tune after the first tank. Not worth the extra cash for 91 octane imho. I'm back on stock tune for now waiting to see if the final 2.0 will blow my mind. I initially really liked the pep/throttle response of 1.05 87 performance, but it was awkward shifting on hilly highways to maintain speed... touchy... foot on and off throttle to keep speed. 2.0 Beta did better on hwy speeds but it'd do this weird lull/lugging when trying to hit the gas. 2019 stock isn't perfect but it doesn't lug when I'm trying wot passing a semi.

Odd, any possibility your truck is part of the high pressure fuel pump recall?

Any possible way you can replicate it, and if so, capture it on a datalog?

 

If it’s the 2018-19 fuel pump recall that shouldn’t apply to my truck. I’ll look into trying to capture it on a datalog. Is there a guide on how to accomplish that? I think I can replicate it. if I can replicate would it make much difference if it were just a slow start vs a complete non start?

 

Slow start, does it crank slowly, or just cranks for a long time?


2016-17 trucks have a different fuel pump recall, for the high pressure pump.

18-19 trucks are for the low pressure pump.

 

Thanks, I’ll check out the 2017 recall. I searched and only ran across the newer vehicles recall.
The crank itself it’s normal, fast crank. It just cranks a lot longer than it should before starting under those specific circumstances.

What is the email for assistance again? Need to get the WOT stall from 2nd to 3rd at redline on the 19800 91 2.0 tune figured out. It's becoming an issue and I think it's not doing my transmission any favors.
