Better halogen builds??

Is there a “better” halogen head light bulbs?? I replace bulbs with LEDs after one had blown.. big mistake, put halogen back in to only have one blow again,, I did buy the cheaper ones.
So what bulbs is everyone using??

 

I replaced mine (ALWAYS replace both of them) with Sylvania SilverStars. Am as pleased as I should be for 2 yrs now.

 

The same one blew out (you said again) or did you mean another, as in the other, old one blew out?

I ask because you may have a short; light bulbs last for several years.

 

I should have added a little more info,
The right side low beam went out so I replace it. Then maybe 2 days later the high beam went out one the left side.. I then order up 2 LEDs to replace both bulbs. (Big mistake). I then replace those with 2 new Wagner bulbs and the low beam on the right went out yesterday after only being for about a week
I was just wondering if there a better bulb that I should consider.. someone I had talk to mention PIAA bulbs but parts store wanted almost $200. For them

 

You didn't make a Big mistake as it's always wise to replace both headlights with new at the same time. You were just unlucky in getting a defective new headlight. It happens, typically due to being dropped or rough handling during shipping. Headlights are fairly fragile regardless of who makes them.

I owned a chain of auto parts stores for 16 years and carried a number top brands of automotive lighting including both Sylvania and Wagner and didn't fine one to be any more problematic than another. The auto parts store were you purchased the defective headlight should replace it for free.

 

Make sure you don’t handle the halogen bulbs with your bare hands. Oils from your hands can shorten the life of the bulbs. Might not cause issues that quick tho
