Well I just soaked the ball joint stud in PB blaster and then I beat it out with a hammer. Probably not the right way to do it but when I did it I replaced the ball joints anyway...

Ya to get it out of the UCA. it would have helped if you left the spring in but could also be dangerous.

BTW i also put the castle nut on upside down for a bigger surface area to beat on. Plus it will catch the UCA so the spindle doesnt come flying out of the UCA.

You could also use a ball joint press or some sort of puller. Maybe a universal pulley puller? Ya I'd recommend replacing the ball joint if you get the chance.

alright i got it out! i started using a pully puller but it kept twisting on me so i left it kinda tightened down and beat it out with a 3# sledge:)

lol so now if anyone has any good tips or trick for gettin the ball joint out of the spindle i would love to hear it.

thanks very much dan! and anyone else who has some advice and wants some rep

No prob. I luckily did mine in a full self service shop we have on base so they had all the pullers/presses I needed. IIRC autozone or whatever should have a ball joint press kit. It should be the same kit for removing and replacing ball joints.

I had the exact same problem!!!

Go to your closest auto parts store and buy a 'pitman puller'!!!

I beat on my stock ucas with a hammer for hours and could not get it seperated no matter what.

The pitman puller got it off within 2 minutes! It only cost about $20 too

    Good luck

Alright here goes. First make sure your E-Brake is off. Next find a bolt that has the same threads as the ones on the face of the drum near the middle. There should be two on opposite sides. Here's what I did. The time I was replacing my timing belt I got bored. Apparently the bolts that hold the timing belt tensioner are the exact same thread/pitch as the drum holes. So pretty much just find two bolts and thread them in and put equal turns into both and it should come off. IF it looks a bit rusted to the hub try sprayin some PB blaster to clear off the rust and what not.

ok i tried all that but finally just gave up finished the lift and dropped her down

now my most recent problem is the back sits way higher than the front. im sure it will settle a little but i want to get the front higher

i feel dumb for askin but how do you adjust these coilovers? i got 2 spanner wrenches but idk

do i need to turn both of the rings on the bottom or just one?
