At least it's not like the guys with 2wds that put 4x4 emblems on them to try and fool people lol. There's a guy that's always parked at our Home Depot (probably an employee) with a 2nd gen Prerunner that has Autozone 4x4 chrome badges on the sides and his tail gate...right next to the Prerunner emblem

Yes I looked under to check and see if maybe it was a 4wd conversion...it was not

Yeah, I see those around here as well. funny.

I'm just trying to spend more of @Kwikvette's money. ;)

He did do a nice job on the graphic though (and his truck!)

i admit i was fooled when i saw them PreRunners hit the lot new, but not because of stickers but the size of them

thought they were 4wd for MUCH less price than my truck until i looked underneath lol

Does anyone know the real reason they built those trucks? I didn’t understand it when I got into trucks either.

They're incredibly popular in the southwest region. Waaaay more of them than 4wd Tacomas out here.

People want the look of the 4wd without the added cost and maintenance of owning one in an area where it really isn't ever needed

they pissed me off when i saw the MSRP on them and they were the same height as mine is all i recall after 20 years lol

i would not mind a small truck like yours but the hell if its going to get around the mid west here in a foot of slick sloppy blizzard snow!

other day I had an older gentleman come up to me as I was exiting the truck and walking into the grocery store. He starts asking me about the snorkel and how I must be able to "cross a bunch of deep rivers with an exhaust pipe like that"... apparently he thought the snorkel was an exhaust and he was referring to his days in the Army. He went on and on about how they used to take that thing through water crossings and it never failed. Took me 5 mins or so before I could explain it was strictly an air intake and NO water crossings. He looked sad and then brought up humvees.
