Have you looked at what's behind the factory plastic bumper? I don't think there's anything there to bolt to. I have pretty much decided I'm going to buy a lightbar. Hate the way they look, but I need more high beam light.

Some people have mounted behind a grillcraft/satoshi/jamoshi mesh type grill. You can fit two in there pretty well. As for mounting I'm not positive but I know there are solutions.

on the inside of the bumper. It would help by having more surface area, which in turn would make the mount stronger since you are mounting the lights in plastic.

best pic I have of my old first gen, i think this what your idea was. I just drilled the holes and got under there to put the nuts on worked great. and no light bar the second gen bumper should support the lights. sorry about the mud :D

IMO you need a solid surface to mount to or else they will shake. But you can always reinforce it later on if you need to.

Yeah, I think so too. Those are a worthy addition though. I have a cheap set of fog lights from Kragen under my rear bumper. No street lights where I live.

I mounted KC headlights directly on my bumper only last 2 days they shook way to much unless you put support behind the bumper like a metal back bracing. I took them off and was dumbest mod I did...left two holes for nothing
