Injectors are out. Don’t know what I’m looking at (photos)

    2nd generation 16" wheels with 1.25" BORA spacers
    Photos below are Cylinder 5, 3 and 1 injector holes. 1 is clean at the air inlet, 3 is a bit dirty, and 5 is wet and cruded up. You can zoom to see. The oval eye us what I am talking about. I don’t really know what happens here but I think it’s where the air comes in. Anyway 5 looks bad to me. Is this a valve issue? Thanks!

    I just did this job and mine were dirty like that too. I suspect it's just grime that has worked its way past the injector seal over the years. I cleaned mine out real good before installing the new injectors.

    there is a vacuum passage in the intake manifold where the injector sits... you can clearly see it in the one that isnt crudded up. This leads to a vacuum port, one for each bank, and these connect to a Y fitting that goes to the IAC. Not 100% sure of its purpose.

    Obviously there is a typical FSM "error in translation" or misprint in the first line. Should read "from the upperstream" instead of "to the upperstream".
